Its fine when Google has a fee on the google play store but when Apple has a fee on its own app store nooo, the EU is bullshit anyone with half a brain knows how bad technology is used in politicians hands. The government shouldnt be able to tell a capitalist company what to do, it will limit innovation just like communism did in its time.

It should be like the way it is done in Android and MacOS, where there is a setting burried several layers deep in the settings app to enable side-loading.
Most people don't install apps outside of Google Play because they don't trust third-party sources. My view is if they do, and something goes wrong, that's on them, and not something Google should be concerned about.

Exactly, some Apple evangelicals against this law act like if regular ppl go about their day on the web then a few clicks later they have 8 malware apps installed. This is far from the case on Android, except from having to enable installing from untrusted sources deep in settings, every install gives another warning and looks completely different than a play store install. Apple could make this even more obscure like requiring your full Apple ID to be entered at install.

U.S. Americans focus a lot on freedome for the the 1 pct rich powerfull owners. EU focus on freedome for 99 pct. If you want competition in capitalisme. You have to have progressive taxes, regulations and split to big to fail companies up.
Apple hardware and software store is like when a company owns the powergrid, sewercanal or internet cables. These companies also have to let other companies compete on their grid/hardware because competion on all “grid/hardware”(phones/internetcables a.s.o.) gives the best price all over on everything for 99pct of us and that is more freedome/money for 99pct of us instead of focusing on the rich 1pct.

I think the EU laws ere good changes. Apple is not a family run business - they are a trillion dollar company. They can and do abuse their power, so I think governments should step in and help users & developers (many of which are family run businesses) as they can't be trusted to do the right thing out of the goodness of their heart. That being said, I think there needs to be a lot more of a crackdown on data collection & privacy too (GDPR was a good start, but more is needed) and that would certainly affect Google a lot more than Apple.

Is Apple acting like a petulant child who was told "no"? Yeah.
But I think they kinda have a right to. People who have an iPhone chose to buy an iPhone. It's not like there aren't a thousand different Androids at every price point every year. 70% of phone buyers buy them. I have one myself, after being raised by a father who's been into Apple basically since they've existed - he had the _Apple Newton_ of all things, so of course all the tech I grew up with in the house was Apple.
Why should Apple, whose design philosophy is creating a walled garden (with all the good and all the bad that entails), be required to break down those walls? People who buy iPhones want the walled garden. People who don't want a walled garden don't buy iPhones. As for it being anti-competition for app developers - no it isn't? Don't make an iPhone app if you don't want to deal with the App Store regulations. You can make Android-only apps if you want to. Practically nobody's gonna buy your apps unless you put them on the Google Play store which has basically the same rules as the App Store, but that is, quite literally, the price of using someone else's storefront - a lot of the work and advertising is taken out on your end, and you pay a cut of profits for the privilege.
