Lauren Scruggs Kennedy, who lost her left hand and eye when she walked into a plane's propeller in 2011, discusses her work to help other women through her foundation and her marriage to Jason Kennedy, and removes her prosthetic arm for the first time on-air.

I love him as an interviewer. he’s straight to the point.
For this particular interview... He was a tad too cold.. Almost like one of the machines from Terminator 1.
Its not easy going through what she went through but to be able to brighten a room despite the experience, smile through the pain and hurt and generally come out fighting on the other side is a rare gem few have... Kudos to you Lauren....so so inspirational....

An amazing story and an even more amazing, strong, young beautiful woman!! I'm so glad she doesn't remember the accident. She is definitely a blessing and is blessed!! The doctors and nursing staff etc did an amazing job in her surgeries and her recovery and overall her well-being!! Wow, it must have been so tough for her but she is a walking miracle and so beautiful!!
She’s so sweet and humble. Most women out there that are intact physically aren’t half the woman she is. I see why her husband married her. her heart is pure. If only more women were like this the world would be a better place

I remember this on the news they said her favorite movie was the santa Claus 2... I remember cuz i love that movie also..i can realy relate to what she went through . i to had an accident at work that took 9 surgerys and 3 years to recover ... The tips of the prop were painted yellow/white stripe to show a circle when spinning. But it was night. She walked into the suction side. Front. So there was no prop blast to warn of the danger.
She is so sweet! This is the kind of girl I dream of marrying!
She has such a great attitude toward life and seems like she has a really good heart, just the complete opposite of Larry King.

Couldn't Agree with you more! He had no emotion & practically told her to take off her prosthetic like he's a salesman so his show gets more views. I swear he's a dinosaur from times where women weren't respected- & it's very sad to me that many people just think he's "direct"...no....he's rude & I agree with you - some what heartless.
Larry's lack of tact is hilarious, I think it comes with age. "So what do you have a stump?"

Was she intoxicated ? I’ve been on a similar plane snd the propeller is so loud , our pilot told us not to get out right away , we had to wait almost 5 mins
That accident was so tragic. I just don't understand why the pilot let her get out of the plane before the propeller stopped.

This was a amazing recovery I remember reading about this when it happened I believed she was ingaged at the time what happen to him who nod how it happened speculated one thing or another she must have been through alot can't really say was dhe luckey or unfortunate those doctors were awsome. As a trans girl m.t.f I went threw 19proceedures her recovery was more intensive than what I experienced but I'm glad at least she seems to be recovered somewhat. The wrong interviewer for this amazing woman. Gruff, insensitive and shock seeking. He says "so you met your husband after all this" and then doesn't ask anymore about it just moves onto more prosthetics questions. Implying how wow it is that she met and married someone post accident. Unbelievable. Cringed so much watching him massacre an opportunity to highlight the bravery and beauty of Lauren Scruggs Kennedy that I had to stop watching. How did this man get this job?

How do you walk into a propeller?
My guess is nothing more than a moment of distraction. Unfortunately at the worst possible moment.
How does any accident happen? People are human and that’s part of life. She may have had a lot on her mind and been distracted. People lose limbs and get devastating trauma to their bodies every day all around the world. Especially living in industrialized nations where so much is happening all the time. It’s hectic and chaotic and very random.

Spinning propellers can be nearly invisible. It was also at night.

I don't get the prosthetic... It looks terrible, and doesn't match her other hand. Just accept how you look now. Nobody's going to judge a missing hand! She's beautiful with or without the hand, and with or without the eye and scar.
