Hi. Just live as usually wintertime for me,but its soo nice to see you2 have good time. Sometimes it needs to foreigner to show us what we have. All best for you2.
I spent years living in North Alberta, if you didnt go outside and ride bikes or run in cold weather you would only have 3 months a year to do it. Its all about the right clothes for the job. I once trained for a marathon in 40 below weather, layers of clothes are the way to go.
That was actually one of the things that shocked us the most being in Rovaniemi. We couldn't believe they were biking in these subfreezing temperatures. It's awesome!! 😁
Its actually Kemijoki (river), not a lake, tho its dammed a bit south from there, so it doesnt flow that much. This is my first winter I bought studded tires for my bike, after some 3 decades. Ive slipped a few times, but practice makes perfect as they say. Coldest weather Ive been biking was -48c in january -99, at a neighbouring municipality to Rovaniemi. The bike started to become quite frozen, so other than parts of face, I got sweaty.
@@PursuingMountains Snow rarely is an issue. +-0 C weathers are, when there is ice under a wet coat. Ice under fluffy snow is an another bad situation.
You can get cars way cheaper, but they are propably sold out like hotels in the busiest season so book early as you can. Like starting from 30-40e per day.
@@PursuingMountains Sorry for you guys..kind of, because sometimes the easy way is not the memorable way. Couple years ago we rented estate wagon from Kittilä Airport for about 200e/4 days.
And it's not even busy this year (due Covid), normally in Dec Lapland is full with visitors from UK and elsewhere, prices are super high. Finns like to travel in Lapland in late spring: It's warmer, more sunlight, still plenty of snow for skiing etc. And less tourists! :)
@@mikrokupu Yeah they probably had to pump up the prices to make up for the lack of tourists which is sad because it will just make the experience worse for those who could make the trip there
Have You heard about Winter Olympics ? Those Games Are Outdoors - 2022 in China ! I believe that - When You were on The bridge - IT was an River - and running water - that takes longer / colder weather to freeze over ! Many Car Companies - come to Finland - to test and make sure - that You May use Your Car at - Winter too ! But Really liked that You found Those bikes - and All the training - You Did for NEXT Winter Olympics 2026 !
Thats kind of funny when people come here in finland and says its so cold and its -14°C and they have million layers of clothers. I think they would be dead when its -30°C😅😅 ive been born in finland and to me -24°C is not super freezing and i can go outside with college pants, thin sweather and slightly thicker jacket and scarf and no hat or gloves😅😅😅

Wow that’s so cold! Couldn’t imagine! That’s awesome you did that though! 💪
Sometimes when it's below -20c when I ride my bike to work I use ski goggles and completely cover my face.. it helps a lot.
Wow that is so hardcore! 💪Way to go! I bet the ski googles help a lot
Welcome to the wonderful Lapland
:)
I was surprised when I saw Finns on bikes any time of the year. They even change tires for winter 😅✌
We were so surprised too at first when we saw people biking, but then joined in 😅

That’s so cold! I was surprised by how well the studded tires work in the snow.

That’s really cold! 🥶 🥶 🥶

That would have been nice. Yes, we learned the hard way that you have to book early when visiting during this time of year.

We can remember that we saw when you were coming out of the bike store without wearing gloves.
Really you saw us in Rovaniemi?
@@PursuingMountains Yes, we did and we were talking about you both then how someone can bike in such a cold weather.
@@nikabhi86 😂 that’s so funny! What a coincidence that you then find our small channel 😆

That’s very interesting, it makes sense that car companies would want to test their cars in Finland in that harsh weather.
-12F (-24°C) is just normal winterday here in Rovaniemi. As we Finnish say, it's just weather when are start thinking wear long underwear 😜😂
Wow! We definitely aren’t used to that! We’d be wearing the long underwear in 2 degree Celsius 😂😂
-20°C is good temperature to make hole at the ice and go to swim.. And no, we're not crazy 😂
I...am...Indian...nice..vedyo
Thank you!!
