Numbers 6:24-26 ESV
24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
The churches may be empty, but so is the tomb.
Worship leaders from more than two dozen Pittsburgh-area churches combined to form a virtual choir to sing a videorecorded anthem that theirs and other churches can play for their online Easter services, an effort organized to spread a message of hope in the time of the coronavirus.
“It’s important for our churches to come together and say there’s hope, God is for you and there’s a way to have a hope and optimism even when the world seems very shaken,” said Jason Howard, lead pastor at Amplify Church and one of the organizers of the project, called the Pittsburgh Blessing.
The song, called the “The Blessing,” was newly composed and released earlier this year by the worship ministry of Elevation Church in Charlotte, N.C. It draws from biblical lyrics pronouncing blessings on the recipients and their descendants, beginning with words that are common in church benedictions: “The Lord bless you and keep you and make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.”

The lyrics and a soundtrack were distributed to the Pittsburgh-area singers, many of whom recorded on their cellphones in their homes, with a few recording on more sophisticated studio equipment. They each sent their tracks back for editing into the final take.
The video begins with single images of different singers, and as the quiet opening swells to a crescendo, they appear on ever-multiplying squares on the screen, videoconference-style.
Alan Hannah, assistant lead pastor at Allegheny Center Alliance Church, said the project went from idea to completion in two weeks. “I had seen some videos that had gone viral online of these virtual choirs,” he said. “The idea came to me, man, what if we could get churches together and create a virtual choir?”
He contacted Mr. Howard with the idea, and they invited churches to participate. “I’m not embarrassed to tell you I cried when I first saw it,” Mr. Hannah said.
Participating congregations included an array of mainly evangelical churches from various denominations, independent movements and racial and ethnic groups.
“There’s many traditions and many worship styles,” Mr. Howard said. “This allows us to have an opportunity to have a unified moment on Easter Sunday.

A friend sent me these verses while I was listening to the last part of this song. God bless you all !
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 5:3-10 NIV)
Blessed Easter Everyone 🙏🏻
What a timely moving of the Holy Spirit to provide us such a song and message while we, as a Nation, can't breathe...I long for the day where every tribe, tongue and nation come together under Him...and worship together. I would like permission to share this with my congregation...Blessings~
Ruby Wax has created a space for those who have mental health issues called Frazzled Cafe, check out their website here www.frazzledcafe.org. They are on zoom, they last for between 45 minutes to 1 hour, this is not therapy, you don't give advice, but you speak about your own experiences, others do too and in doing so is a forum "It's ok, not to be ok". They have mindfulness at the start and end of the sessions, if this would be helpful for you in addition to what you may or may not be receiving at church, then go and experience on of their sessions.
I'm a software developer and I'm fascinated by this concept. I haven't seen anything yet that can do this in real time due to issues of internet lag and synchronizing the audio. I do think it's possible, though, and would like to spend some time investigating what it would take to create something like this. I think it would be a huge benefit to choirs if they could hear the results of a virtual rehearsal immediately, and it would open up all sorts of new possibilities for choirs to produce and share virtual choir performances. It would help immensely if I could consult with someone who has experience producing a virtual choir and/or hosting virtual choir performances. Is this something you'd be willing to discuss with me?
This is amazing!! Thank you for sharing!! I had a hard time being at home for Easter. Thank you for bringing the choir to youtube!
The son of god bless him
