"People in America could understand horror, and blood, and dead babies, but they couldn't understand male, female, sexuality. Bisexuality, they weren't ready to understand." And even today we are still incredibly backward and puritanical in many ways regarding healthy views on sexuality.
+Cosmic Rogue So very true....the TV viewing audience in the states would rather watch Nicole Brown-Simpson's blood on the 6 o'clock news....death, violence, despair....that's what makes good TV
***** For the most part, you are quite correct. America is an eclectic cultural/ideological playground, but there is an incredibly strong urge to use limited black/white thinking. Not for everyone, of course. But enough to cause a hell of a lot of problems.
***** I would leap for joy if we could ditch the dual party system. But then people would actually have to think critically about ideas, instead of having them broadly generalized in a tidy political platform.
+Itai Being an American, I feel more than qualified to say that you've hit the nail on the head. I certainly feel the media reinforces stereotypes and that there is very little "out of the box" thinking going on in regards to critical national issues. It sometimes feels like being an alien on another planet, in a different dimension :(
I went to Bowie Thanksgiving 1974 in Memphis, Tenn... I was expecting to see Ziggie .... And was surprised and somewhat disappointed to see the Thin White Duke ...
Thankfully I got to see David about 35 times....and he always amazed!
+Michaela :) I knew that back then, and I am very grateful I did!
I'm 22 and I wish I could have seen him 😭😭😭😭
You're so lucky
I'm so jealous!
holy shit
Grazie mr.Jones ....un genio e un artista completo...love Bowie forever
I wish I would've been old enough to see David Bowie in the 70's.
I love how he pronounces telephone "telly-fone"
Mike Garson amazing as well as MICK RONSON!

Commander Jones. RIP.

Kevin Larkin - omg! Seriously I am envious you seen the duke! Yes Ziggy would be amazing! I was nowhere near born!
The Thin White Duke was 1976. You'll find that in '74 he was generally referred to as Halloween Jack after the character in the song "Diamond Dogs".
The Thin White Duke was my favorite. Lucky you!!!
You should consider yourself really lucky now. 😊
Thank you for putting up! Very cool!
Genius ....
Ya me too went to every David Bowie tour UK my favorite was station to station empire pool wembley 1976 he was a genius
Wait! Mike Garson had hair?
Yeah he had hair you can search photos of him and Bowie together and you can see photos of 1973 and photos of 1974
To clarify, the rest of the documentary contains no Bowie?
Detroit iggy dig
I am not a space cadet to his commander - but Bowie is still a wonderfully talented man - wasn't hard to look at all
Definitely easy on the eyes, he was....
Mick Ronson found Garson not David.
Eire? >:) policy
