- I started recording clips from the Explore live bear cams in Katmai National Park in 2023 as a way to learn bear IDs and to revisit moments caught on the live cams. I am not an expert in bear ID nor am I affiliated with Explore. I am just a huge fan who loves to learn. *** Bear IDs are subject to change at any point.

Could you in the future number the bears on the screen?.
@@Sillydk-ot6dk Truthfully, probably not. At least not at this point. Making the clips is more time consuming than you’d think, and I don’t have any fancy editing tools, just iMovie. Plus, I’m only in my second year of IDing/watching the bears, and I’d hate to get an ID wrong and then have to make a whole new video because of that. It’s easier just to edit the caption. But maybe in the future when I have more confidence in my IDs and have more time.
In this particular video, I listed the number in order of appearance. So you see 909 with her fish, 83 scaring her off, 83 approaching the falls where 747 is, 747 leaves, 856 shows up.
