Ummm this Alocasia is doing some strange for some change

Any fellow plant peeps on here? This black velvet alocasia is doing some things I haven’t seen before. Plant is around 2 years old and just got done flowering for the second time. It has new growth on the top, but something strange is going on down below. I’d love to learn if anyone else has had this experience and can tell me what’s going on!
