- Actor Alec Baldwin is set to stand trial in New Mexico for a fatal shooting that occurred on the set of the Western film "Rust" in October 2021.
Baldwin, 66, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, charges he vehemently denies. The trial will determine if he bears criminal responsibility for the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Hutchins was killed when a gun Baldwin was using during a scene rehearsal discharged, fatally striking her and injuring director Joel Souza.
Jury selection begins Tuesday, with opening statements expected on Wednesday.
Baldwin, famous for his role as Jack Donaghy on NBC's "30 Rock" and his portrayal of Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live," has entered a plea of not guilty.

The so called 'special treatment' you refer to has been tailor made for him by a politically weaponized Justice Department defending the re-election of a democrat president and his cronies. The problem is they are demonstrating their lack of education and intelligence. 'Fascism' was and still is a practice of socialists/communists. Maybe they should keep to acting.

@@joycegibbs5267 I’ve actually studied it quite a bit. One historian’s books I’d recommend is Ruth Ben-Ghiat. She specializes in studying authoritarian movements.
