Beautiful. I've been making my own alcohol inks for a few years. Dollar Tree sells alcohol markers (just like sharpies) in a package of 8 for $1. I get 2 packs and double the amount of ink to intensify. Less alcohol helps the color get richer. I let them sit overnight. It's pretty easy to take out the nib (writing part) and cartridge with some hemostats. I always squeeze the rest out to make sure and get it all. Sometimes I do them in a small shallow dish (covered) and after they are done, I use a small funnel and pour them into similar bottles like you have. I even mix colors to try and get different colors. Love your channel.
I just did the same thing today. I used two packs of markers per jar, and I took the tip of the marker and used that to. There is so much ink in the tip part, I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else doing that.
Connie Connie, I do that, too. Made sense to me.
Not sure where you get your bottles, but I buy mine at the local vape shops, in any size you want. They will sell them new empties. My 2 ounce bottles were like 50 cents each.
meduza65 I got some on Amazon last year. But, I'll try different ones next time as they squirt out too fast. Thanks for the tip of vape bottles.
@@amethyst1826 Most Welcome. I know what works for me and those are just as good as the fine point, over priced bottles.
I make my own. I don’t put my “ink” into the dropper bottles until it’s completely made. I put the 91-99% isopropyl alcohol and marker cartridge in a plastic soufflé cup first. You can get them on amazon. I let mine sit overnight. When you’re ready, then you can use the funnel to pour the completed ink into the dropper bottles. Also, it takes a little bit of tweaking to find the right ratio of alcohol per color for the right color saturation. The higher the alcohol content (I.e. 99%) the better the inks will work as well.
Oh, and highlighters make your pieces glow under black lights!!!
Yes:) im gonna try it myself, I was wondering about the concentration of ink to alcohol and now im gonna try hilighter ink too...I love glow in the dark myself, and practising is so much fun
I want to say I started out with 30ml of alcohol, and found that I wanted the concentration of the pigments to be bolder. I’m using about 20ml of alcohol now.
When using highlighters, bear in mind, the color of the highlighter doesn’t always translate to the color of the ink. For instance, purple highlighter makes pink ink.
@@Melissaschiffer77 thank you for the tip:) that makes sense
It's a bummer that you don't get white sharpie, as that's often the most expensive alcohol ink!
Cool knowing about the highlighters, as I've been wondering about those.
I cut the plastic covering off mine, it made sense to do so.
We're not even going to talk about how her hair changed through the video?
I noticed that too
HAHA, I didn't even notice that! Too focused on the project. I had to double check to see what you were talking about.
I actually wondered that myself, but it was 24 hours... so I guess that's time enough to change hair color....
Been trying to figure out how it changes so much since I started watching her!
I agree I was like what happened to the hair color, that was a quick change, lol.
I love making my own-especially mixing two different color sharpies for a custom color. Even doing a metallic with a solid-they turn out stunning. Love your videos, by the way! Keep up the wonderful content!
Awesome, I totally enjoy how you are not afraid to try new ideas. I'm going to have to try this idea with my metallic Sharpies
Metallics don't work. I've tried.
@@amydavis4945 if someone has already tried and had a tip that metallics don't work, why waste the supplies? especially since alcohol is so expensive right now.
@@redshoesgirl I didn't see the other reply before I replied. Geez I'll delete it. You realize this was NINE MONTHS AGO.
@@amydavis4945 sorry. time is irrelevant on the interweb. :-) i'm still following tutorials from years ago!
but ya know, if people want to try metallics, who am i to say don't.
i am waiting for the alcohol and funnels from amazon, got my sharpies and ready to rock and roll!
i bought some cheapO glass salt and pepper shakers from dollar tree so i could make about the right amount right off the bat then pour into those little plastic bottles with the needle-nose tips.
Ughhh so much joy when I hear "welcome back to my channel!!"
I think your success would have been even better if you used 99% alcohol. You can't find it in stores but you can get it from Amazon. I think the colors would have dripped a bit more for you.. You can also get deeper/darker colors by using 2 or 3 markers per bottle. #ProTip do not leave the cotton in the bottle to long or they begin to break down and put chunks into your projects. lol Use throw away cups to soak and then put into bottles once the cotton is white. Thank you so much for sharing with us..I always enjoy your experiments...
i use dollar store travel bottles larger openings can remove the sharpie pad with tweezers
I buy 99% alcohol at my local stores.
@@racoonsister I am in Florida and you can not get it here. So wish we could..
In my local pharmacy, they keep the rubbing alcohol behind the counter. Maybe it is a similar thing at yours!
Not available in Alabama either.
Less alcohol might keep them more saturated. They look really cool though, that cube one 😍😍
That cube one👀😍❤❤❤. Yaaasss!! The swirl in the large circle😍😍😍❤❤. All of them came out gorgeous!
Also cutting long ways down plastic coating of ink tube seemed to help another youtuber
Also a lot of Alcohol inks use a mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and glycerine as a blending agent which increases the brightness and allows more saturation. Also as you say the ratio of alcohol to pigment needs to be more weighted towards the pigment
I feel like this would be great for people just starting out to help save money for nice alcohol inks.
I make all my own alcohol ink. I use “printer ink” to color my alcohol. I can make any color and it works. Enjoy your channel. 👍😀
I absolutely LOVE your hair! I really enjoy watching you try out new things! Thank you!
I just started watching your videos a few days ago because I was looking up resin art on UA-cam to start learning what it entails
I wanted to say that on top of your artistic ability I absolutely love your personality ! Your positivity is what has pulled me into watching more of your vids and subscribing to your channel.
Thank you so very much for sharing your positivity and your love for flowers and resin 💕✌🏼🙃
I love how these turned out 😍 I've been wanting to try myself for awhile. Good job 👍
I have made my own alcohol inks to use on an epoxy cup. It worked pretty well. I love how everything came out. Your pieces are so pretty 🤩
I do this with a highlighter too & its awesome! Also blacklight responsive. So fun!
Wow,!! They turned out amazing!! I love the square one 💗
I'd love to see you try this again, using the ink now that it's been made for a while! Also, maybe trying more than one sharpie per bottle? Make it more concentrated?
loveeee your makeup girrlll!! great content!
i think the actual white alcohol ink might be denser than the rubbing alcohol/sharpie. Maybe the alcohol used is different than rubbing alcohol? Either way while not the intended effect it's certianly pretty! There's a lot of neat things u can do with markers and rubbing alcohol. I did something similar to this to make galaxy colored sneakers but i used crayola markers. Maybe using the ink from artist alcohol markers would look more like regular alcohol ink? IDK I'm not a resin artist just a regular artist and i usually work with alcohol markers so this is very interesting to me!
New subscriber! Your video of you trying pictures in resin popped up on my feed and I'm OBSESSED with all your stuff. I'm def going to have to try this alcohol ink trick.
Did any one else get cringy anxiety because the colors didnt match the bottle caps?😬
No, just me. Ok😊👍
Crucibelle again. You’ve projected negativity into someone else’s comment. Maybe just refrain from adding any comments when you’re having a bad day 🙂
I had the same feeling haha, ah well.
That's really cool! Definitely satisfying to watch lol!😂. I love how creative you are hun!💖
I loved this. So awesome to know you can make your own!
Absolutely LOVE them !!
The cube is AWESOME
Wow these are so beautiful 🤩They came out gorgeous and it does work you did an awesome job I’m going to try that
Love how the cube turned out!! So cool
Those are absolutely gorgeous I love how pastel they are!
I DEFINITELY think that it was a SUCCESS!!!! I love the looks of the little cube how you can see into it❣
I freaking love your intro!!! You’re literally the cutest!! Yas kweeennn!! Keep up the great WERK!! ❤️🙏🏼👑💯
Just came across this video....love it! And you have a great fun personality which makes your videos enjoyable!
Great experiment. Love the cube, going to try it myself.
I just started watching you and love your ideas can't wait to try them thank you so much for all your ideas
LOVE your eye shadow!!
Omg I’ve been watching your videos for an hour! You are my new favorite too much gurrrrrrl! Thanks for all the fun! I’ll need to check out the resin you use, never gotten to the casting stuff yet!
You're makeup and hair is completely flawless love it!! Together with your art and personality 🥰❤️✨
I'm so glad you're doing this!!!!!
You should have one cut the ink foam sections in half and two you should have removed the plastic lining off of them ~ but not bad first try! And these inks do work well with resin ~ including UV resin!!
i love the lava lamp look as it reacts. they look so cool! i like how they came out.
All of these are so cool!! I especially love the cube. I was curious to see if the white would sink to the bottom and it looks like it did with all of the round ones. But the brilliant colors in the big circular one are spectacular. Fun experiment!!
I just made these this morning 👍 So glad to see they worked well. As for them being light colors, I was afraid of that so I put 2 of the same colored markers in 1 bottle to try to get a more pigmented color.
I will be trying it tomorrow, I want to let it sit overnight 😊👍
Omg you are so awesome!!! I loooooved it 😍😍😍😍😍 you are a genius!!! I am doing my own alcohol inks from now on!!! ✨✨✨Keep on, I really learn a lot from your videos🥰 much love!
That pastel block @13:47 is gorgeous. I can see figures, even. The one on the left reminds me of a mother holding a child and the one in the right looks like a head and upper body.
Silver Sharpies!!! I have a ton of those. They work on every color, light or dark.
I'm so glad you did this video. I've been looking at the different ways to make your own alcohol ink and I was wondering if you had tried it yet. I figured if anyone could prove whether or not it works it would be you! Thank you so much! I really enjoyed this video!
GIRL YOUR EYESHADOW!! I had to pause the video and take a moment! OMG why is everything you make amazing??
I do this to make my alcohol ink for nail art. The more markers you put in each bottle, the more pigmented your ink will be. So I usually use 3 pink markers per bottle, etc. And the metallic markers are so so cool! Love you and your videos!
My friend and I are always playing with resin and it’s so fun to watch your videos!
This is so cool!, I think the white couldn’t push a lot forward because the inks not as pigmented as real inks so the white slightly over powered the colors
That eye makeup tho 😍 combined with the hair, the whole look is absolutely fabulous
I liked how they turned out, but that's my opinion.
They are not pastels, they are just extremely watered down.
Try using mason jars with multiples of each color, use only enough alcohol to cover them, keep them in the jars until the felt is completely drained of ink, and keep adding more marker felts and alcohol.
You will be making a very concentrated ink that can be used as is in tiny doses or watered down with more alcohol.
these came out so beautiful, I just discovered your page and i love your spirit and your bubbly personality, i have also heard from numerous of people for more of a deeper pigment and more bang for your buck that its best to use extra printer ink cause its more concentrated
This is a great idea and certainly more economical than buying the conventional inks.
Your make up and hair look extra amazing!
Love this Heather thanks so much xxx might be possible to add/mix white Pinata ink into rubbing alcohol to dilute its strength ? Not sure this would produce less white spots but the cube is my favourite for sure xxx
She’s on her way. Good start ☺️
I wish you would have tried one where you mixed them in the resin and then poured 😥
I have been binge watching your videos and I love your art and your hair is amazing too
I loved how they came out, yes it was lighter colors but all Beautiful. You make me wanna try this so bad. My brother works with resin & wood he is trying different things out I am going to send him this video. Thanks for sharing...💜💜💜
Maybe try to double up on the sharpies and using less alcohol? I don’t know but this came out way better than I thought it would, way to go!
Wow, I love it. I will have to try it. So cool!
I love your hair and your projects are SO CUTE
Omg that cube blew my mind!
so many beautiful art you make, i love them, you are a beautiful person and very skilled.
The timing of this post is kinda funny. I started doing this with a 24 pack of sharpies a while ago and just finished up yesterday. I started with leaving the color filters in the bottles. I changed my mind after the first 2 and decided to let mine sit in plastic cups covered in cling wrap overnight, then pour them through a little funnel into the bottles and toss the filters. It was great to see in your video if they'd work in resin. Thanks for sharing!
I want to see you pour resin on a table next !
I love the 3d effect this gives your work.
Your makeup is stunning!
I was like 'I don't see how it wouldn't work' yet I am still shook at HOW WELL they worked. loovveee
Way too excited that I got a heart from her!
Your channel is one of my favorites. 🖤
Amazing i feel inspired do you think it would work with the metallic sharpies? (Silver gold and bronze)
This is amazing I’ve really struggled to find a perfect pink most of the pinks in full sets are too blue based and before anyone says use red and white I’ve had the same issue with red either being to blue or turning orange.
Always love your charisma, amazing art and tips and of course your bright hair colours. What a great diy ink tip, thanks.
Also could you please do a tutorial on the simplest way to do a full 3D mold cast like your heart dish which never showed the finish of how you cut it up to make the top and bottom of final mold. Thanks
It did work. I love what you did.
Wow and now your hair is blue 😍 the pastels are pretty love it love you more
love it. Going to give it a try.
I made my own. They're not as vibrant but two coats and it looked just as good as the store bought ones.
Love your hair and makeup and energy and hustle! I think they might be darker if they were made with a little less alcohol in the bottle. They still turned out cool. I think the swirled disk looks kinda like a Lisa Frank rose with sparkles or dew drops! Love your channel and I’m always looking forward to your videos!💖💖
Thank you for making this video and immediately testing it on resin! My biggest question was if it would work with resin, and it did! Yay. Thank you. Now I'm off making some inks 😁
Firstly the resin cured 👍 The white behaved normally but it seemed to absorb the colour inks and from what I could see in most they lost their transparency, . Brave trial you used so much products to do this for us, so young lady a HUGE THANK YOU 💖 these are super colours and great for simply tinting resin or mixing with the white and going for it 🌸✨
I have a question for you. Btw I LOVE you! So I tried to do some resin pieces in one of those mini donut silicone molds. I got everything ready and started dropping ink in. Then I noticed that the inks I got from Amazon said not for use with UV resin. The new resin I got was UV resin ugh. So it was too late so I just kept going. This morning some of them hardened and some of them have liquid and ink still on top. Do you think they are a waste? I have not taken them out of the mold yet. This was my first try ever using alcohol inks. Thanks!
She tells us 2 hours later but she got a whole new look. Love the blue hair.
I was wondering if you used half the alcohol if the colors might be darker too....but, I too was totally shocked this worked and worked so very well.... awesome video... I am gonna try it now!
Haven't even gotten halfway through the video....but your hair!! 😍😍😍
With the culture cast resin staying sold out, is there another brand you can recommend that produces similar results for a beginner?
The last one was my favorite for sure
I've used alcohol inks for all my art , and yes , the Sharpie and rubbing alcohol 91% , is my goto favorite
Will 70% work the same cant find 90plus
Omg now I’m convinced I’m buying resin!
You look stunning in this video!!!!
Do you have an alternative to white alcohol ink? It’s never at my craft stores
Love this video. Can you do a video on those resin pieces. I'm interested in how you do those. Very pretty.
Love the blue and purple one
Good Goddess your eye make up is stunning!!! xx
Heather is stunning! Lol. I love that she mixes up her make-up and hair colours just as much as she does her project colours!
Hi Artsy I live in Puerto Rico and it is very difficult to get many craft item to do different crafts like I am trying now to do jewelry resin and I wanted to ask you if I could use in the resin pearl ex powdered pigments to color the items by the way I think you are great and a good teacher
How freakin cool! Will definitely give this a try!!
This is so cool! I feel like a stronger alcohol content, and maybe less of it volume wise could make this work even better! I really want to try this!
Of course it works, beautiful pieces.
Gorgeous last ones my fave
sisssssss your makeup your hair the black making it pop im in loveeeeeee
Hello I love what you do it's beautiful and I would love to have a go. What would I need as a starter kit xx
I have used rubbing alcohol to use sharpies as a medium for painting it was cool.
Love the cube!
