- NFL stadiums are the homes to the NFL teams and there are very few moments in history. where you will see NFL teams completely abandon their stadiums, while it was more common in the early days of the NFL. Today most teams are content with the stadium they have now, and if not instead of jumping ship, ,ost organizations choose to have the stadium undergo major renovations to keep the stadium up to date, and prevent the relocation to another city or even state on rare occasions. Unfortunately though sometimes it can’t be helped when the renovations are enough, and the team feels as though they deserve better. Relocation can happen but sometimes the renovations are enough. Here on this list you will find 4 NFL teams who are indefinitely relocating for a new stadium, 1 NFL team that could go either way with their new stadium, and 2 NFL teams that have no need for a new stadium considering their current ones are about to be decked out with all the best upgrades.

If Nashville wanted a baseball team, they could turn Nissan stadium into a ballpark
Making a ballpark requires the size to be a house shape, they did this with dodgers in la coliseum and the field was to unbalanced. And yes the a’s has a ballpark the raiders use to have but the field is the worst stadium. And unless Nissan stadium gets renovated, there cannot be a baseball team unless the location they found

@@B1inded3agle__ well technically, a ball park doesn’t have to be large seating, usually ballpark seating are lower than nfl. My best bet, implode half of the stadium seating, in this case either one of the side seating rows to get space. Add new rows on the side, and convert the stadium into a modern ballpark
One of the bigger reasons why they want out of that location is that it floods often after major storms.
I say send the team back to Houston and be the Oilers again or give Houston back the Oilers name. I get extremely annoyed that the Houston Oilers aren’t back in the NFL due to their Stupid Ass owner didn’t get his Welfare Funded Football Stadium. The “eligibility to host a Super Bowl” is going to make every single stadium indoors in 20 years
Doubt it. Can the rather small cities of Green Bay and Buffalo justify the hotel space needed for a Super Bowl? Nope. Doesn’t the NFL also want a minimum of 70,000 seats for that game? Washington went from 91,000 to 67,000 seats and there are plenty of other sub 70,000 seat stadiums. Would a team build a larger stadium in the hopes of getting the “big game” but then not sellout their regular season games?
@@mikecumbo7531 no because next year's game Super Bowl 48 is being played here in my home town of Las Vegas an Alligiant Stadium is only a 65k seat stadium though I think they can max it out to close to 70k by adding temp seats.

Can't wait til the bears leave for Arlington Heights. Now Chicago is proposing a renovation of soldier field because they know they're losing money when the Bears leave.
Not to nitpick, but the bears weren't founded in Chicago, they were the Decatur Staley's before moving.
That Soldier field renovation project looks goooooooooooooooooooooooooood 😱😮
It’s really futile. The Bears are moving to Arlington Heights where they own the land, stadium, parking, and will be able to have attractions around the stadium. The taxes in downtown are very high. There’s not nearly enough parking. While there’s lots to do around Soldier Field, it’s a sports wasteland. The Packers Patriots and a couple other teams have football related attractions around their stadiums and that’s what the Bears want but Chicago won’t do
And the incompetent mayor will never be able to pull it off to keep them. Its a half hearted attempt at best. San Francisco tried the same thing to prevent the 49ers from moving to Santa Clara, last minute proposals. Never works.
@@scotttild Hard to blame her in reality. You're right, she way out of her element. But given the conditions in Chicago the constant issues with the horrible turf, and all the stuff I listed in an edit, I doubt either Daley could save the Bears. Richard M. The proposed new Titans stadium is one of the most unstadium like stadiums I have ever seen. There is nothing in the NFL even remotely like it. At first glance, it looks like a convention center or even an office building.
The reason for this is that the entire East bank where the new stadium is being built is being redeveloped with high rise office buildings retail low rise and high rise apartments they want the stadium to blend in with the environment not stand out like an eyesore that doesn't belong if It turns out looking like the renderings I would say the architects did their job as requested

Or a Commanders generals hat?
As a Bears fan, I agree that they should move the team. The city taxes is what it is killing them. For ten days a year, the city gets money from concessions, parking, and upkeep of the stadium. That is why the City is trying to keep the Bears in Chicago. So what if they leave to the burbs. The Raiders are in a town that is across the street from Vegas. Why? Taxes. The Giants and Jets in NJ. The Cowboys in Arlington. Commanders, Rams and Chargers. Dolphins. The list goes on. And if a dome stadium is made, possible Super Bowl. They played it in New York, Detroit, and Minnesota.
I've heard that if and when the Bears head out to the burbs, Chicago may renovate Soldier Field anyway to try and lure an AFC team to the city...
@@MichaelBurmy That would be insane....
@@MichaelBurmy They can't bring another team. No current team will move there, the bears can block another team from being close to them to. Also the NFL isn't looking to expand in the US anytime soon. They'd much rather have a few teams in Europe.

I happen to like the design of the new proposed Buffalo Bills stadium and the location in Orchard Park next to the existing stadium - once that stadium is torn down the space will be converted to parking areas and will deprive local property owners of revenue from fans parking on private property - those property owners may not be happy because they will have lost their cash cows but it will benefit Bills fans with lower cost and better parking areas. The stadium design is forward looking and while it will not allow as many fans to attend games - there will be a standing area made available for 5,000+ people in addition to seating for 62,000 in relative comfort. The plus side that appeals to me is that the stadium will be just that a stadium and not some of the newer stadiums that are nothing but show cases for all kinds of extras - like IT room, banquet halls, museums, art galleries, floral gardens, eating/dining areas outside on various deck levels - but there will be a football field somewhere inside the building with seating around the 65,000 mark. In all things I like simple and the proposed Bills stadium is simple but serves the purpose for which it is intended. In my opinion spending 18 billion dollars for a stadium is sheer stupidity - think how much good most of that money could have done for the community it is located in - terrible shame and terrible waste.
@@BillsMafiaJedi2021 The Pegulas did in fact "threaten to move" the Bills to Texas (Arlington) since the lease on the existing facility ends in 2023 (this year) and the Pegulas did not want to extend a long term lease on an old outdated facility - BUT - the "threat to move the Bills" was more of a ploy to get authorities to build the a new Bills stadium - and guess what - they ploy worked. The Pegulas like Western New York and they have many business interests in this area - the Bills being just one of those interests. The agreements are pretty much complete but there are several DNA's (Do Not Disclose Agreements) and only select persons know what these agreements contain - pure and simple guess is an agreement that the Bills stay in Buffalo the length of the new lease (30 years), a possible agreement since it is rumored the new stadium may be built on an Indian Burial site and there may be an agreement with the various Indian tribes - pure speculation, and an agreement if the Bills do decide some day to relocate they pay large sums of money to the State of New York and Erie County - all speculation. And speculation included in the DNA is how much the Bills will pay for use of the new stadium. Ground breaking is in part scheduled for mid-March and actual digging starts in May 2023. Another speculation is the name of the stadium and that may be covered by a DNA also. All this information has been on local broadcast media, social media, local newsprint and with "talking heads". This certainly has been available since the release of the initial pictures of the proposed stadium design.
@Eric Schaefer Austin
The issue for Buffalo is that the league won’t pay for a stadium there unfortunately. Although Buffalo and the surrounding area is probably home to the best fans in the NFL and the metro population surrounding the city is around 1 million people not to mention all the people from Toronto and Rochester that are Bills fans. But the surrounding area population is nothing compared to most other NfL cities. So cities like NYC or Chicago get financial help from the league, Buffalo has to pay for its stadium from the citizens. Which sucks but I don’t think they would be able to build a new stadium any other way.
@@SalamiCheeksThe NFL has reached agreement with the Buffalo Bills and the others concerned with the cost of the new Buffalo Bills Stadium and will loan to the Bills multiple millions of dollars toward the construction cost as a loan repayable by the Bills Organization yearly for 30 years. The State of New York, the Bills Organization, the Bills owners the Pegulas the NFL and the County of Erie will all be financing the cost of the new stadium which will be owned by the State of New York.
@@BillsMafiaJedi2021There was that suggestion when the Pegulas bought the Bills but it was somewhat of a ploy because the existing stadium lease terminated in 2023 and the Pegulas to "encourage" the building of a new stadium in Orchard Park they "suggested" with the help of the NFL that the team might be moved to Arlington Texas if the Bills did not build a new stadium - it was a ploy that got the various groups moving toward the design and the building of a new Bills stadium with ground breaking scheduled in May 2023 with scheduled completion in 2026.

I HATE these new stadiums! They all look pretty much the same, most have roofs, nothing distinctive or quirky about them at all. I miss the old-time stadiums like Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, LA Coliseum, RFK Stadium, Metropolitan Stadium, Cleveland Municipal Stadium, Fulton County Stadium, etc. Those may have been dumps, but they had character. Football is a game to be played outdoors in the elements, muddy field, portions of the field totally covered in dirt - that's football. I don't feel sorry for NFL players who make million$ and complain about facilities in stadiums they only have to use 8 or 9 times a year (tough it out, buttercup). I totally get the money angle, but you're at the game for for 3-4 hours, it's not supposed to be a 5-star hotel. All you need is a bench, beer, hot dog, maybe some nachos. If it's all about your comfort, stay home and watch the game on your couch.
