Sometimes beatings can have positive effect as a strong enforcer (in the short term) . But parent must follow it up with logics/understanding, or child will have resentment and emotional distress leading to mental issues and certainly it can lead to desensitisation to violence and trying to solve things by physical might. So beating you kid is in general a bad thing and is to be avoided mostly.
Most violent criminals have had a violent upbringing.

I know what Jordan's childhood was like I lived it.
I fell down and got a sharp stone in my knee once while learning bicycle went home crying got the shit beat out of me and then rushed to the hospital..😂 love you despite that Mom..

They don't beat you like real bad, they know what is the threshold to get their kids to learn a lesson. The parents feel bad, but it has to be done, they can't just let their kids go into wrong paths :P
Shoot I feel left out of my own family, I have 4 siblings, and I was the 5th one to not get a beating lol, but I always had a fear of getting beat.
Me and my brother got beaten by hands, feet, shoes, sandals, ladles, rolling pins, bowls, hand bags, different kinds of belts, hot candle wax, badminton bat, cricket bats and sometimes fruits and vegetables.
I am from Manipur, a small northeastern state of India which was annex by India on October, 1949.we got independence two day ahead from India and it was written that we have constitutional government almost second in southeast Asia in 1947. So I want u to get a new taste "Hada samadon ayangba" by Mangka which is quite different from mainland Indian

I guess almost every child goes through this bad bad practice used by parents to get their kids in line with their idea of what is right. I see all 5 people in the video talking about the abuse they had to face as kids. I went through it like billions other in the world. How did this bad thing become normal.

Abuse is different, Indian parents hit their kids but they are always available especially emotionally. Europeans and Americans lacks that though not applicable for all. Pregnant at 16, meth head at 19, prostitute by 23. Bruises are better although Indian parents now are resorting to face to face friendly conversation

See guys, in India every bad thing a child does or even a grownup does, it’s related directly to the parents. And if you are not a strict parent you are not ideal at all. Children themselves do not like the “should do” things by choice. So the parents (almost all) teach them at the points of sticks. And fun fact the famous mom weapons in India are chappal(slippers), belan(utensil used to flatten dough), and jhaadu (broomstick) 😂😂

Jordan - I can share your pain buddy. Dad whopped us every opportunity he got. Back then, I thought he hated me. I was sent to boarding school when I was in grade 7. Spent 5 years there. Graduated with a major in Technology. I have everything I ever wanted, job, family kids. And maybe beating your kids isn't the only way, but it is usually very effective - if coupled with un-conditional love and support, as in my case.
Back in the day, we had the privilege of getting beaten by our parents and our teachers. 😂

my last beating was with cricket bat because i stole a cricket ball from cricket coaching camp and i remember i had a hairline fracture... not that he wanted to kill me, but because i was holding a bat at that moment when he found out that the ball was acquired by illegal means. i had a plaster. till date whenever i get attracted to somethings anywhere i go through this flashback... eventhough it was just a onetime thing
