I can definitely understand they were in a place they were unfamiliar with. But come on anybody with common sense knows how to act. What they said was very insensitive not only to Kobe's culture but also to Black People period. He had to come to an unfamiliar place and culture as well when coming to America. What if he wasn't open minded and he was complaining about everything including being the only minority in a place without very many minorities. If the shoe was on the other foot these people would be offended. There are ways you can be polite even when experiencing something different including a country or culture. Safety was not the only thing they complained about. And I will absolutely NOT give them a break. Open your mind and get to know people from diverse backgrounds in order to educate yourself. And when you are in a different place by choice Do NOT Complain. 🎤
The world is such a beautiful place, it is a shame that American and British media only show the bad parts of other countries. In every country there is the beauty and the not so beautiful parts
As I’m sitting here watching this video today is Easter the 2 nd Easter without my beautiful grand baby who passed away at 6 years old due to heart transplant complications and her favorite movie at the time before passing was The Lion King which was playing the whole time at her service. Just made me feel like she is with me today. She always has a way of doing that in all that I do.
Honestly, I don’t totally blame Emily. It’s also Colby’s fault. I hope that he’s instilling his culture into their children. Unpopular opinion, but most of the time when it comes to white women and black men it’s about the 🍆, which she stated in the beginning when they met. It’s his responsibility to demand respect and not fold when it becomes too uncomfortable for Emily and her family. Hopefully they have more of an understanding on how Colby fault / feels when he’s in the US.
I said the same thing from the beginning that he was a simp. The only time he put that dumbass woman in her place was when he told her to stfu. Even his fellow countryman that lives in Amer told him not to let Emily walk all over him bcuz Amer woman are like that compared to African women.
No one ever holds the men accountable. It’s his fault for not only dating but mating with an ignorant semi racist woman. A lot of black man do this and at the and the African community has to live with identity crisis having mixed children.
I agree on the D! But it’s not his responsibility to teach a grown woman who states she travels or have babies by a man not to do her research before going to a country. The issue I have is he is 1000 % African and she knew this. But her entitlement had her thinking once he’s here I will tame him and make him like me. I want African men to stop thinking white is right . That’s my issue with all African men . Some one please hold a sign so all Africans know American woman are the #1 educated in this COUNTRY.
Wow….not WAKANDA! The second hand embarrassment 😩Out of respect she should’ve studied up on the culture. Does she think loins just roam the streets there?
That’s not entirely true remember when he arrived in US she didn’t let him see his son first she took him to a hotel for herself so she the ones to blame here not him.
Omgosh, first and foremost, Melicia looks fantastic!!!….rested? vacation maybe? She’s gorgeous. And kudos for focusing the video on those cast members we love!
It’s her children culture as well. It’s ignorant for her to not try and learn about the man she chose to marry. I see why my uncle said situations like these sometimes are pure fantasies!
I'm actually glad that Emily's mom asked Kobe whether it wouldn't offend anyone if they wore the attire. If they do have common sense I hope they'll understand why it is okay for them to wear his attire and that it's not to cosplay but rather show respect. I also hope some people can learn about that.
I just got so choked up watching Coby's family giving Emily's family hugs. How sweet was that? I wish i could be a tiny bug so i could tell Emily to STOP SPEAKING WORDS OF NEGATIVITY AND DOUBT! Words are VERY POWERFUL! What is spoken now has life. Our universe hears what our hearts and mouths are saying. Emily voicing ALL IS HER DOUBT about "Coby's dad not accepting" her and "what would i do if...". We breathe life into our spoken words. She has this weapon of mass destruction... her mouth. We ALL DO and we use it daily.
I'd love to see a traditional wedding! When I worked in Rwanda those few weeks, our participants were from all over Africa, so we got a taste of cultures from many countries, especially music and dance was easiest to share. At meal times, we talked a lot about different foods. I hope these get better and less embarrassing. Thanks for your coverage.
Coby and Emily are my favorite couple. Of course Emily is going to talk about the country TLC wants controversy and Content so it is what it is a Reality Show.
True as an African (South African) traditional weddings are Very!! important. Basically it’s more important than the white wedding despite its religious significance. Not everyone in Africa believes in Christianity, but rather believe in African spiritual religion (which are deeply rooted in tradition) And thus varies from each country but the blue print is the same. This wedding is the welcoming of the bride into the family and letting their ancestors know that we have a new family member so that you become one of them. If you die (as per the religion) as the new wife you go and chill with these ancestors (basically it’s to recognise you as a daughter of that household). This will also include Emily’s children, because they are kobes children. This ensures that the ancestors protect and bless Kobe, emily and their 3 children. Basically the ancestors are like “We see new people in our compound (Most African families have a main home, where all family gathers and where certain rituals/ ceremonies occur that’s why it’s not easy for African families to sell their homes and why some of them still live in villages) in and out, but who are they??” Sometimes they can get angry if people were not introduced to them and you keep insisting that they are family. That’s why traditional wedding are important to African people.
Hes trying to joke. Why is that so offensive? If u came to Australia and said crocodile Dundee or Steve Irwin or something how tf would that be offensive either😂 cringy maybe but offensive or nasty? No
Her and Kobe should've sat down and had a conversation about what her expectations are about Africa, specifically Cameroon, vs what the reality will be. He should've prepared her a little bit better. But I think most countries in Africa (I said most not all) aren't as race-conscious and culture-conscious because we've grown up with people who look like us and live like us (or similar to us). He probably wasn't prepared for the way they perceived anything because he's never had to see them out of their element like that. He's always assimilated and adopted their American culture. Hopefully other Americans see this and are compelled to do some research from non-biased sources about what Africa is really like.
The ignorance is blinding. Emily and her family are something else.
Yeah, yet she claims to love traveling.
I agree, from USA, Emily & family need to go back to school!

Safety was not the only thing they complained about. And I will absolutely NOT give them a break. Open your mind and get to know people from diverse backgrounds in order to educate yourself. And when you are in a different place by choice Do NOT Complain. 🎤
The mother's comment about "shacks" was crude.
I love Coby smile!!
Kobe is a dude that I’ll actually hang out with…. He seems humle af
The world is such a beautiful place, it is a shame that American and British media only show the bad parts of other countries. In every country there is the beauty and the not so beautiful parts
True
the fact that the kids are half cameroonian and she’s not taken the opportunity to learn about the culture is baffling
I’m from Maryland and went to (5) Countries in Africa. She is NOT LYING about CapeTown, everything is said is SPOT ON!!!!
As 🇨🇲 myself am so proud to see this 🎉
As you should be. Now if only Emily's family doesn't humiliate Americans, while humiliating Kobe. 😢
Apologies on behalf of Emily and her ignorant parents, not all Americans are like this!!
This is normal to have a traditional marriage in the African Country your spouse is from.😊
I aaaalways love your hair, but this is so nice!!! The red tone looks AMAZE with your complexion! ❤
🙏God be with you and ur family
100%!!!!!!
He seems like he still biting his tongue around them smh
Can’t believe this guy has stayed with her this long.
My Dad had a traditional Cameroonian (Bali) wedding in 2014, it was great! I hope they do it 😊
I do not like Emily. She’s giving ignorant and has since they started the show. I hope her children don’t grow up with a complex.
I never liked her
Exactly
what a sad thing to say. speaks way more about you than Emily 😂😂😂😂😂
naivity
@@ottawavalleystoner lol bye Emily
I always love your recaps, Melicia!
Awww sawubona girl 😂💕 from South Africa 🇿🇦 I'm shocked you know sawubona and even said it nicely.
Emily and Cony both amAzing!
Coby the respect you have to your family and culture is very admirable .
Bless your heart more and more!
I love your hair !!! Also your new channel! I commented there on synchronicities. Keep up the good work!
What is her channel
MELICIA is always on point with her commentary & her opinion
If you keep your mouth shut Emily you will be fine Koby seems like a nice guy Emily father seems scared 😂
Knowing that will never happen. I don't like her parents attitude when they arrived there either.
@@vblackwell3347 now you see why there daughter so rude

These two are my favorite couple. They get along so well

Why? Would you pick this chick to be with and have kids with?
One night stand came with a baby
@@debrabaird633 true 💯
one night stand and got caught up.
Knocked up......
@@NatalieRabuzin Yes, he's a loser too. At least he's in the kids life.
I hope for her sake that Mahmoud is back in Cairo by now! There’s no way he could adapt to such a huge culture difference between the US and Egypt😢
Wow….not WAKANDA! The second hand embarrassment 😩Out of respect she should’ve studied up on the culture. Does she think loins just roam the streets there?
Very embarassing
Saubona❤❤i am South African living in Europe. I am a big supporter. Keep on the good work
Kobe was too busy creating kids than teaching her about his culture 😂
That’s not entirely true remember when he arrived in US she didn’t let him see his son first she took him to a hotel for herself so she the ones to blame here not him.
@@bahreldinyagob421😂 that was one night. Tho she shouldve took him straight to meet his cild
5th element is everything!!
Kobe friend hit it on the nose well at least about emily she got nerve if you know what i mean
He's a racist against white women. How on earth is that acceptable?
when the friend told her . De hozban has the last say . ha ha ha ha i thought she deserved ir
Thank you so much for speaking so highly of our country South Africa
Thank you Mellisia akways give good coverages. 😊
The slayyyyy 🔥 hair and eyebrow combo go crazy beautiful as always girl!
Emily’s mom is gorgeous. She is aging like fine wine 😍
Bland as white bread though.
So happy U had a pleasant experience in my beloved hometown, Cape Town, Melicia! 😊❤😊
Awww I’m glad you enjoyed Cape Town ❤much love
He didn't mean he made out, they just prefer to marry their own.
Kobe probably would have too, if Emily wasn't pregnant. It would have been a fling. He's honorable, imo.
@@vblackwell3347why have more kids then tho
So they couldn't afford to move oit of the basement. It's gonna have a population explosion at this rate though@Missemeka

🇳🇦🇳🇦 Hi neighbor ❤️
Please forgive Emily & Co. 😢
@millidw8070 And forgive Kobe for marrying her. He is trying to do the ethical thing. 😢
All the crap aside, the meeting of Emily's parents and Kobe's family was so nice. His family immediately welcomed them.
emily doesnt work so she has ZERO excuses on not learning kobe’s culture
Emily’s dad saying wakanda had me crying 😂
Vanny, makes me wonder what was his go to reference prior to 2018
Did that fool say "wakanda "??? 😮 0:52
yes he did🤐
Hes trying to joke. Why is that so offensive? If u came to Australia and said crocodile Dundee or Steve Irwin or something how tf would that be offensive either😂 cringy maybe but offensive or nasty? No
I like your comments about Africa - very positive. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
He did not scream 😂Wakanda 😂😂😂
Melicia looks absolutely stunning in any hairstyle, in any outfit...hands down! She's a total snack!
