  • We travel to Budd’s Gunisao Lake Lodge which is a fly in lake in northern Manitoba. Perhaps some of the very best walleye fishing we have seen with incredible numbers of fish caught each day. The number of trophy size walleyes over 28 inches caught on this lake is remarkable. This lake is one of Manitoba’s very best lakes for producing Master Angler class walleye.
Budd’s Gunisao Lake Lodge is reached by flying out of Winnipeg. The flight leaves early in the morning and lasts about an hour and a half. Once you arrive and have breakfast at the lodge, you are fishing shortly thereafter. Comfortable cabins, great food and appetizers with bar. Very friendly staff and great guides.
We typically easily caught over a hundred walleye a day with many walleye over 24 inches. This lake routinely produces walleye over 30 inches. Most of the fish were caught vertically jigging main lake structure in mid July. We enjoyed a fantastic shore lunch each day and fishing after supper is also an option. Easily one of Canada’s premier fly in fishing destinations for anglers specifically targeting walleyes with trophy fish potential.

My very first walleye was a 29” green back from lake Winnipeg through the ice! Never registered it into the books but I’ll always remember that fish.

Definite bucket list trip! I have been on over 30 fly-in trips in NorthWestern Ontario, but this type of trip is just something that all of us should get to experience, even if it's only once!!

Idk man if i was spending that kind of money for a northern fly-in the last thing on my list would be walleye. I'm WAAAAAAAY more interested in the pike, laketrout, and grayling fishing.

To each there own. I wouldn't wanna touch any smelly pike. I'd take walleyes all day. Like he said this lake is known for master angler sized fish for a average. You let me know when you consistently catching 25in plus walleyes

@@michaelschnoor7594 every winter buddy. And sometimes summer if the winds are light. I live in winnipeg LOL
Besides im not talking about hammer handles here. Im talking multiple 40+ inchers a day. Sometimes sightfishing.
Like musky fishing with more action.
Try working at a walleye camp youll be bored and pike fishing a few weeks into your season.... trust me on that.
And a good laketrout bite??? Oh my god there is nothing more fun than boating 100 lakers with some absolute HOGS mixed in.
Talk to me when youve actually been there and done both LOL

@WheresTheSauce I see your point if your guiding all summer. Guys at the camp I go to in ontario say the same about pike. They get old targeting walleye is all
