Classic! Terry Wogan is a legend! Reminds me of the time I had a tooth out at the dentist and they gave me gas and air and I swear I could see all of the Stoppit and Tidyup characters around me in the room!
so glad i found it i am 62 and remember watching it with my twins who are now 24 OMG was it that long ago i just love the names and the sounds they made
This fever dream of a show has lived in my head for thirty years or so since I last saw it, and re-watching an episode now I'm amazed that it was exactly as bizarre as I remember.
i've just cried with laughter at this and i'm 24!! this was my favourite show as a kid...had the videos and everything...Terry Wogan narrating it was genius "he gets ideas ya know"
i love watching this. brings me back to the 90s. me & my brother used to watch this on tv. nostalgic!! finally available on youtube. thank you thank you thank you...
I'm so glad I found these!! I used to LOVE these as a child and although over the last few years I'd insisted to my family that we (my brother + I) used to watch these, no-one believed me!! I had started to think I was making them up...! :D Love Tidyup...
Fond memories, one of my favourite new hobbies is watching children's TV, to help my trauma relief healing programme. At the age of 44, this far I have watched Bertha, Trapdoor, Round the twist, nightmare, morph, and now Stop it and Tidy up, absolute classic. God bless UA-cam for archiving all my favourites, for free. Next im gonna hit up Count Duckalar, P.S. Anyone else doing a similar thing to me, I can highly recommend Bob Ross Joy of Painting, he hit the spot for me.
"Until he got squashed by a teapot" :D i loved this as a kid and it still makes me laugh at 23...only for the rarity of it these days...probably the same back then...Love it :D
This is possibly 1 of the funniest things i have seen in my life! I showed it to 1 of my mates and he was on the floor clutching his ribs with laughter. I used to run home from shool to see this so its a pleasure to see it on youtube :)
I remember going to the dentist to have some teeth taken out and I was put under gas and air that the dentist called "magic wind"...I remember having a weird trippy experience where all of the stoppit and tidyup characters were walking around the room!!!
Another show that was buried in my subconscious that I just recently discovered again thanks to UA-cam. Although looking back on it the show is pretty obnoxious lol. Its just lots of noises! Still probably why I loved it so much :D
I loved this so much !! Think it was a bit of a niche unfortunately not all generations had th fortune to experience it lol. Feel so fortunate now, and with the late great terry wogan 😊.. im also an ni child an this was one of the few local accents heard on mainstream telly... Lovin it!! 👌🏼❤️ thank u for sharing this 🙏🏻 makes me lol so much 😂 but also quite thought prevoking now
I just watched a rotund women marching up the street with a strange looking little dog in time to the introduction music. So funny! Stop it and tidy up are legends. I`m 31 and i still think this is hilarious :)
A classic cartoon series from the 80's & one I haven't seen this in ages! TIdyup reminds me of an old school friend, the resemblance is uncanny! Lol...
Wow blast from past, I didn't realize when I watched it as a kid that all the characters were the negative rules used in a lot of family homes, I think stop it and behave were the 1s I used a lot with my son :)
They should remake this for an adult audience - specifically couples - with new characters: "Where's the remote?", "Put the bleeding kettle on", "I'm not watching that shit" and last but by no means least, "Not tonight, I've got a headache".
Something to day reminded me of a program I watched ad a child with a guy called Tidyup in it. I thought it must have been a strange dream but I Googled it anyway and it turns out it was a real program!
This was my fav show as a toddler/preschooler! And it was real. i knew it..parents thought I imagined it ha. only my brother remembered the 'red spikey dude' aka stopit. They sure don't make kids TV like this anymore ;(
These two would be better representatives of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign than Gove and Johnson. Actually, I think Stoppit would be better as the Mayor of London and Tidyup would have made a better Secretary for Education too.
Hi there, ide like to thank you for your great collection of cartoons, ivforgot about stoppit & tidyup, thank you for sharing your channel😍😍😍thank you friend..
I loved this when I was a kid! It's pretty scary though! Tidyup's shouting! O_O The Big Bad I Said No is cool xD and the Sit-Downs... omg no they were horrible... o_o
Recently showed this to my bf who is 10 yrs younger than me as a paragon example of oldschool kids tv (which it is and always will be). He thought it was nightmare fuel.
Made by the same team as Trap-Door: you can see this in the Charactor design and vocal noises. I think they only ever did those two cartoons, though. And HOW did they do those charactor voices?

Same. As a kid I remember being scared by Tidyup going 'UUUUUUURGH!' at random moments.
@Man-From-Another-Place Yeah, his scream/yell was the main thing I remembered too.
Me too!
i've just cried with laughter at this and i'm 24!! this was my favourite show as a kid...had the videos and everything...Terry Wogan narrating it was genius "he gets ideas ya know"
All I remember watching this as a kid was how Tidyup's 'voice' used to scare me to tears. Ah the good ol' days!

Tidyup popping out of that window at 1:05 scared the absolute shit out of me all over again and I’m nearly 32!

R.I.P Terry Wogan. You made my childhood awesome.
💜💙💜💙
I couldn't remember if this was a weird dream I had as a kid or a real show. It's so bonkers.
I remember going to the dentist to have some teeth taken out and I was put under gas and air that the dentist called "magic wind"...I remember having a weird trippy experience where all of the stoppit and tidyup characters were walking around the room!!!
lol from falmouth.
Dentist gas was really bad. Awful stuff.
I think the writers of this show had taken some 'magic wind'
That is trippy for so many reasons! I remember Tidyup used to frighten the Hell out of me when I was younger :D
I was 11 in 1987 I loved watching this I now own this on dvd even at 46 I still remember this
Brilliant! If I'd seen these I could have saved my money buying the DVD off eBay!
Sell me the dvd, would ya? :3
I never realised that Sir Tel was the narrator! What a legend 😀
Holy shiiiiit i remember watching this all the time when i was little.
I T S S T I L L A M A Z I N G
Omg.Thank you for these. Really reminds me of my childhood. I was too young then to realise that Terry Wogan was narrating it though.
This was so bizarre and fun.

Digging out Kids TV from sub conciousness, dude I'm on the same trip. I can highly recommend Bertha and the Joy of Painting.

Tidy Up reminds me of a supervisor where I used to work....He acted just like him & sounded like him too..
A classic cartoon series from the 80's & one I haven't seen this in ages! TIdyup reminds me of an old school friend, the resemblance is uncanny! Lol...
Haha
this is brilliant! I used to watch this when I was small! thanks for the memories :))
i used to love this when i was a kid
Wow blast from past, I didn't realize when I watched it as a kid that all the characters were the negative rules used in a lot of family homes, I think stop it and behave were the 1s I used a lot with my son :)

Ah memories! I've always been amused that this was narrated by Terry Wogan XD
Loved this when I was a kid but man, they were definitely stoned on something when they came up with it.
Was the theme tune by Aphex Twin!?
No really
Excellent...they don't make them like this any more! Bloody hilarious.x
Bizarre and fucked up! I loved it when I was a kid. Thanks for uploaded!

The things I grew up watching on TV back in the early 90s, it's kind of scary... :S
completely forgotten about this one, mint .
I watched this growing up as a child
The Big Bad I SAID NO scares me shitless as a kid.
They should remake this for an adult audience - specifically couples - with new characters: "Where's the remote?", "Put the bleeding kettle on", "I'm not watching that shit" and last but by no means least, "Not tonight, I've got a headache".
Yes other episodes include "Put the bins out" and "you can fucking cook tonight"...
+brandybuck1984 'Have a drink', 'Our little secret' and the big bad 'NOT IN MY BACK YARD!'
The third one is me.
YES XD
We can make it happen. I can design some characters
Something to day reminded me of a program I watched ad a child with a guy called Tidyup in it. I thought it must have been a strange dream but I Googled it anyway and it turns out it was a real program!
I couldn't even remember this til I watched the clip, must be the first time in at least 16years - ridiculous
mental nostalgia trip!
thanks for uploading!
Whoever made this was a genius.
You can thank Charles Mills and Terry Brain for this
for years, if someone told me to stop it I always replied with " And Tidyup" .
Tidyup was def the inspiration for the dad from US 🤣🤣
I remember having the annual at my grandmas and watching the cartoon on T.V. this and Trap Door were absolute bangers. 😆👌🏻
This was my fav show as a toddler/preschooler! And it was real. i knew it..parents thought I imagined it ha. only my brother remembered the 'red spikey dude' aka stopit. They sure don't make kids TV like this anymore ;(

The older I get, the more I love Stoppit and Tidyup. Is that weird?
Brilliant I haven't seen this in ages thanks UA-cam recomendations:D
Tidy-up makes me laugh every-time!!
Poor old tidy up x
These two would be better representatives of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign than Gove and Johnson. Actually, I think Stoppit would be better as the Mayor of London and Tidyup would have made a better Secretary for Education too.
Tidyup looks a bit like a colour-negative BoJo.
Look at him now
@@ZuluRomeo yeah but there's the obvious Comb Your Hair that looks like a bumbling ox.
Hi there, ide like to thank you for your great collection of cartoons, ivforgot about stoppit & tidyup, thank you for sharing your channel😍😍😍thank you friend..
0:51 And the big bad... I Said No!
they should blatently bring this back and show it. this was 1 hell of a show. tidyup an clean your teeth were the best!!!!!!
hence my reasoning for liking this, when tidyup is FAAAALING!
I remember this brilliant cartoon.
I'll never forget "The big bad i said NOOOOO!"

He thought it was nightmare fuel.
for a low-budget tv show, this makes cosgrove hall look like patty the pelican
Stopit sounds like the voice of Morph.
3:54 is one of the funniest things I've ever seen

This show was my childhood
Made by the same team as Trap-Door: you can see this in the Charactor design and vocal noises. I think they only ever did those two cartoons, though. And HOW did they do those charactor voices?
