I've been burglaried in rural Las Animas County, CO more than once. Generated proof of goods offered in pawn shops that are mine, but law enforcement, pawn shops, and private attorneys don't care. Let that sink in...
He even parked under a roof. Ouch
Not safe anywhere. Last year we decided to road trip to Denver. Didn’t want to risk damaging our own car, so we rented one. Came back home and decided to drop off the loaner so we wouldn’t be charged for the next day. Both the rental and the car we intended to protect got pelted by softball sized hail!

That's what happens when you choose to live in a frozen hellscape in the Rockies one mile in elevation.
You’re thinking of snow/sleet. Yes elevated mountains can cause hail to happen easier. But it happens just about everywhere in the USA a lot, just not typically large. Hail is formed in thunderstorms from raindrops being carried high in the atmosphere in the thunderstorm updraft where it’s really cold and freeze and clump together getting bigger and bigger until they fall.
That is the funniest comment I’ve seen today! By all means, please don’t come to the frozen hellscape….
To those who left CA for this, I salute you.
Staging/planting “car parts” in the street did nothing to elevate your puff piece about the weather 😂
Hail yeah
Hail is actually way more common in the lee of mountains. Whilst less common on the mountain itself, living on the east side of a mountain in the central US means you're going to be dealing with a L.O.T. of hail.
Metal cars dent
Plastic cars crumble
Very bad days
I wouldn't use an RTD Park & Ride when traveling. Thieves prey on those more than off-site parking like ParkDIA that are gated and monitored 24/7. I'm surprised how many people still use these places when traveling out of state.
Snow storms wind storms and hail storms we keep getting these fucked up weather patterns because of climate change.😮
Stuff like that doesn’t really have that much to do with climate change. Climate change impacts long-term trends and averages rather than directly causing specific isolated events.
My license plates were stolen at the 61st and Peña park-n-ride location in 2022. *Do not park at these locations overnight!*
Lots of busted glass everywhere without hail storns!!!
