Wheel bearing part number (OEM): 93306-00612
Very nice and informative video. I'm getting ready to tackle my Big Bear wheel bearings. You're funny, entertaining, and fun to watch. Thanks for the great video.
I appreciate it! Thank you🙏
Excellent video as always, and a great inexpensive diy tool. I use an SKF bearing driver kit at my workplace, it's great because the rings fit exactly into the bearing, and there's a tube that'll 'eat' the axle so you'll always get even pressure when hitting with the hammer, and won't end up with the sideways problem you had.
The only downside of course, is the crazy price tag, although I'm sure you can find a similar offbrand set for a fraction of the price.
Always love to read your comments! Thanks and I'll be sure to keep an eye out on a bearing driver. 👍
Excellent video. I am surprised how dry those bearings were. I’ll definitely be greasing my bearings when I do the one on my 92 Big Bear.
Thank you! I always appreciate positive feedback
Thank you! I always appreciate positive feedback
great job and good detail. for sure. i grease these factory sealed bearings also with extra good grease , it will last longer!! perfect ty 100--100
I have a big bear and was hoping you had a demo on rear break replacement and adjustment? Great videos you have .. thanks !
Absolutely! Front or rear? I'll send you the link
Hi the rear breaks and I also have a moto 4 225 and there is a loud ticking coming from I believe is the top of the engine. Thanks again just trying to keep the two young lads up and running!
I am currently making a playlist on a Moto 4 and I think that the ticking noise could be the valves. I set the valve clearance in this video: ua-cam.com/video/2SXaP_GxKR8/v-deo.html As for the rear breaks, I'll have to do some digging but i think it might be the first or second video of my Big Bear Restoration series. Hope this helps and thanks for your support!!
@The Honest Mechanic thanks!
Hello , what are the numbers on the bearings So I can get some .
Thank you in advance
Also , your videos are beyond informative. Step by step made it very easy and not frustrating
Thanks for your support! The OEM part number is 93306-00612. You should be able to cross reference it to a good aftermarket if you want. I have added this to the description box.
Not sure if you shop on fortnine but their customer service and return policy is excellent. Not sure if they would have those break shoes or not.
Just bought a 350 2x4 big bear for £400 only needs front wheel bearing changed will be looking forward to these videos keeping me right
Awesome! Thanks for using my videos!
@@thehonestmechanicwhat size roughly carter pins do you use mate?
@@thehonestmechanicor should I just eyeball it off the old ones?
Honestly, I use a cotter pin that fit snuggly. If it's too small, it can back off and loosen
Had a 1992 ford ranger the idler pulley never was grease
Theres usually dust and crap in the degrease fluid as well. Use clean gasoline as a degreaser.
Would you happen to have a link for the bearings themselves just bought an 88 big bear trying to sorce a few parts in canada
This is what I found for you. I shop Royal Distributing because they are local to me. www.royaldistributing.com/ca_en/all-balls-wheel-bearing-kit-25-1108.html#atv_utv-1987-yamaha-yfm350fw_big_bear_350_4x4

i have a big bear 400 and just ordered new front bearings, tie rods and ball joints,,all the parts came to less than $200 shipped from Amazon,,put all the parts on,,exact fit parts with no issues. wheel bearings for both wheels was only $35 with seals.
I got a 98 Big bear 350, hub cap will be come off no matter what i do. Got wheels and center nut off but the cover I think is rusted on from not moving for 10 years
I have seen this happen. Depending on the tools at hand, I'll either heat up the hub or soak it in penetrating fluid for a couple days.
@@thehonestmechanic found out the hubs and brakes where seized
Ouch... hopefully you can get everything freed up a d running again. These are great machines!
@@thehonestmechanic ya I've heard alot of good stuff on them so can only hope
Did you install those headlights on the bike? If so do you have a link
Yes I did. Here's the link to my video: ua-cam.com/video/VoWaT9tns_U/v-deo.html. It's an older one so it's not great
@@thehonestmechanic thanks man....hey where are you located?? Are you in Canada?
