Im homeless have been for 5 years. It's very difficult to survive. I live in my truck. I work part-time and get a small pension. But i still can't afford to rent a place. Its either put my money towards a place to live and starve. So i live in my truck. Money for fuel and food. It's very tough in the winter when the temperature drops to - 30 and 40. Trying to stay warm and keeping my truck in good running condition without it i will die. I have 3 kids and family. But they really don't care. And that's the hardest part. No birthdays no holidays and no hellos how are you. Life is very lonely. And i losing the will be live. If you ask me. There's no God. Have you tried going to a church for help. A church will gladly take your money. But will give you nothing. And that's a fact

Derrick, I feel your pain through this message brother. I know it’s got to be difficult. I was a case manager for several years for the homeless population here in the city where I live. It’s difficult trying to survive on a very small income. Rent is 1000 bucks a month between rent and deposit will cost you nearly double that just to get in somewhere. Government housing has a waitlist a mile long. Resources are very limited. Cold weather shelters are very scarce. Some churches have great resource programs, some nothing at all and if they do, it’s pretty much just handing out resource bags or food which is great but only puts a Band-Aid on the situation. I feel for you brother. Thanks for watching.

@@Janetbringsawareness I appreciate that I truly do. It's something I would say. Today it's just your daily acquaintances you meet which are always friendly with those that greet you through your day. Meals and restaurants are always good for the soul smiles and friendly banter. I really try to reduce my time alone. I pretty much just use the truck to sleep usually 6 hours or a little more. Shopping malls and the coffee areas you meet lots of people. I'm lucky to have work just part time but we're only open for 4 a day 8 to 12. And I'm the only employee. I have a changing room which has a shower. Microwave fridge and toaster and coffee. Life is good in many ways. Just wish I would have done things a little differently in the past. Like plan for the future. But I'm not the only one which gives me a little pleasure. But I do see peace in the end. You have a wonderful day

It's painful to see anyone without some type of place to call home. And there are many reasons this happens. We don't want to judge her children either. This is only one half of the story. It's sad that she's not close to her children, though, for whatever reason(s). Healthy family relationships and friendships can make all the difference in life. It's good to try to be kind to those we come across, because we never know what someone is going through.

with 870$ a month, if I wanted a bus ticket, I'd buy one rather than complaining about one not being given to me. in listening to this woman, it's clear she's her own worst enemy. if you need to keep an appt. that would get you out of this mess, you keep the damned appt!!! no excuses, just be there, come hell or high water! I'm sorry, but this woman elicits no sympathy from me. The way she speaks, it seems like she thinks everyone else should take care of her. There is senior housing, and low income housing. She should be eligible for that, unless there are undisclosed issues with her. Says she has 5 degrees. Can't make appointments. Said she's been in every rehabilitation house there is in her location multiple times. Nothing but excuses. My parents had 3 children. None of us spoke to them. Hmmm.
