Stock form of this car has a lot of issues. All of the mods I’ve done are to correct some of the OEM issues. The LT4 in here gets hot as hell, needs cooling upgrades to avoid timing pull which reduces HP (no limp mode it just restricts timing), OEM wheels cracking, mediocre GM paint job, 3LZ leather dashes will peel up and off so avoid 3LZ trim, 1-4 skip shift needs tuned out, the engine has AFM hardware that can fail and destroy the motor (there’s AFM delete kits), the 17-19 have extra radiators and better supercharger bricks/lid and it still gets timing pull quickly after being run hard, some people get the clutch/tq tube chatter, center armrest like to wrinkle up easily, and some stuff I’m probably missing. Still love the car though
17-19 M7 cars don't overheat...Just avoid the slush boxes if you're going to track. You can defeat the skip shift with a simple $10 part so no need to tune. The armrest wrinkle was fixed in later years, and 3LZs are a waste of money on older platforms anyway, so stick with 1 & 2LZ and that way you avoid the leather dash. The AFM is a VERY SMALL risk, but most Z06s won't see enough mileage to be concerned about it.
