I decorate with the classics of red & gold with green added from garlands & greenery. Our town has this wonderfully old tradition of carolers that start on Christmas Eve at 12 in the town square & walk around the town. They stop at street lights and sing German Christmas songs. People come from surrounding areas & it’s a great tradition we look forward to every year. It’s been an ongoing tradition for over 186 years. One year there was a huge blizzard, but one lone man walked around just so the tradition was not broken. Men wait on a list & do an apprenticeship just to join. It’s really cool.
Years ago, when my youngest was a baby(he's 13 now), we were traveling on Christmas day. We lived 3 hours from family, so we let our kids have Christmas morning at home, then we packed up to go visit family. In the hustle, I didn't even think about lunch, so we had to find whatever we could on the thruway. Denny's was open, so we let our girls get whatever they wanted, and because we felt like jerks for being people who made servers work on Christmas day, we decided to double the check for a tip. 13 years later, we have gone to Denny's every Christmas for dinner, and we always double the check for a tip. Friends have loved our tradition, and one year we had about 20 of us there! We certainly don't go for the food, but we love our little tradition. And bonus for me, I don't have to cook!
I usually have the traditional red and green colors but this year I added some browns and golds. I took your advice about adding ribbon and purchased a large roll of deep, rich brown velvet ribbon and I love it! It just elevates everything and ties it all together.
The view of the 2 fireplaces and that beautiful panelling is just stunning ❤❤My main tree is a mix of green and reds incorporating our travel ornaments. My room however is sage green, brass, mercury clear glass and dusty pink glass baubles. It’s my favourite and represents our time living in India. My boys trees are all representative of their personalities and room colours- navy and red, aqua blue and green and black and red.
Your home is absolutely beautiful and so cozy and unique! You do such a great job decorating your beautiful honeymoon and your addition is stunning! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
Your videos have been giving me so much joy this season!! Thanks for all the cozy inspiration. I use very traditional red but with lots of gold and white. I naturally have lots of brown because my husband is a wood turner 😆 lots of special wood touches. One of our favorite traditions is to have a simple soup and bread meal on Christmas Eve, representing the poverty of Christ, before feasting on Christmas Day to remember His royalty. 😊
Your home is beautiful!!!!! How clever to use that velvet bedding for your table !!!!!!!!! Also the garland is so full and realistic !!!! One of our traditions is to go to Christmas Eve candle service , then home for a lovely dinner !!!!!!
How lovely it is! The tablecloth looks great. As we age, our family is becoming smaller, so traditions adapt. We have one child, married with two young children. Our one tradition is to have them come to put ornaments on the Christmas tree at the first weekend of December and this is followed by a cheese fondue. Our son loves it, and that warms my heart.
Not decorating this year as we are renovating lol bring back memories to you , did put a little Christmas tree up that’s it until next year I have so many ideas
My color scheme was inspired by a vintage Christmas tin that I recently purchased. It has a pattern of a deep aqua blue, dark red, emerald green, and gold on a powder blue background. In my downstairs family room I took my inspiration from a set of vintage mittens that are emerald green, mint green, and bright red.
So very delightful and always inspiring. Love your interior design, Sarah, and your sense of humor is a bonus😊 Merry Christmas! Blessed incoming year for 2025 and continued success throughout ~♡~
What happened to your Christmas Tree next to the fireplace? You decorated it last video?...Traditional Colours for me, green, red, gold, white... Tradition:... more when the kiddos lived at home, but back then: chocolate Advent Calendars, shoes out night of the 5th for treats if they have been good in the morning (SinterKlaus)...chocolate tree ornaments...

Beautiful! But where did the Christmas tree go 😮was I dreaming that I watched you put the tree up ?
I was wondering as well...they did cut one down and decorate it, and placed it to the right of the fireplace...but it is no longer there!
I just filmed this before we put it up. Sorry to be confusing! 😆 It will be there again in next week’s video!
@@GraceInMySpace 😁👌
I make sugar cookies and let my Granddaughters decorate them!!
That's such a fun tradition!
