- Always Board Never Boring unboxes and shares his initial thoughts on the Fighting Foe Men Faction expansion pack from Wave 6 of the Masters of the Universe Battleground game by Archon Studio. Be advised, he had no idea who the Fighting Foe Men were, so he had to do a quick bit of Googling to get up to speed. He apologises in advance if there are any inaccuracies in his research.
Note that in the rules for Dawg-O-Tor riding Battle Ram it states that vehicles use the same rules as other large models. During the initial review ABNB didn't really consider the full implications of this rule, which could lead to some unthematic situations such as vehicles climbing up the side of terrain. It appears that Archon Studio will be revising the rules for vehicles to make them a bit more thematic in the future.

Thanks for the review. Though Dawg-O-Tor is neat, the proportions of the Battle Ram is off; I owned the toy back in the 80’s and Archon’s rendition, though detailed, is simply too small for the driver, alas. I agreed that a more recognizable driver would have been good; perhaps an Eternian Royal Guard instead, as the Battle Ram (in my head canon) was always a Heroic Warriors vehicle. Looking forward to your take on Leech and Scorpia!
I think they might have truncated it slightly for the base size but I don’t think the proportions are too bad compared to the Classics line it’s based on (based on looking at pictures as I’ve never seen the Classics toy in real life). A royal guard would have been a better choice for me, but again, I do understand why they have gone down this route.
I agree. It looks pretty bad. It's like the Little Tykes kiddie version of the vehicle.
Ha. I genuinely didn’t think it was too bad. It doesn’t quite have as much length as it probably should but on the whole I thought it was a good miniature. I like it more than the Leech and Scorpia miniatures that are coming up, although I think that is overall a better expac than this one.
I think that's a nice mini for the price. And it sounds like a neat addition to the game.
I think the miniature is lovely, and the price is good. I do wish it wasn’t a Fighting Foe Men, but I do understand the decision.
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I just find 3rd party eliminates add alot of texture to war gaming. and i really like the idea of mercenary parties benefiting off the war between skellitor and he-man but im just ranting.
I like the vehicle and may pick one up.
Are you releasing any more painting video of the characters from the base set.
Yes there are more painting guides to come. The school holidays really take a toll on what content I can produce but I am working on it!
Larry Elmore's artistry continues to echo in nerd culture. I shouldn't have been that surprised.
This was a little chapter that I knew nothing about. It was nice to find out something new about him.
They named the characters based on themselves ….?
Huh.
Good models and review. More Masters of the Universe!!
Apparently. It was all new to me!
Not exactly. Sherri Lynn Cook, Shane Dittsworth, and Owen "O-Dawg" Oertling weren't official members of the Four Horsemen Studios design team when the Fighting Foe Men figures were created. The four founding members of the studio named those three figures after their employees as a "thank you" for their hard work.
Did I hear Leech?? Oh and Scorpion-lady... Meh... But Leech??!
Watch out for Friday’s video.
