Hugo looks a lot like Mark Ruffalo!
This is fantastic. I'm completely jealous.
I'm so surprised that Mapudungun words (the syllables, consonant clusters, combination of phonemes etc.) looks so "European" and perhaps also a bit "Turkic". Very unique among South American indigenous languages. This guy is really a rare find, he's not just polyglot, but polyglot in 2 seldom learned languages, and he speaks fluently and naturally both of them! Really impressive!

Is Hugo not even of Mapuche descent? Perhaps the point of learning is to keep the language from becoming extinct?
He says he isn't. But, he sees the value in speaking these languages because of its cultural heritage in Chile, to experience the culture, and to stand in solidarity with the indigenous people of his country.
That is ecuadorian kichwa. Sumak mashi, pagui. Nawpakman katishun nukanchikwan shimiwan
