Omega - The Child (1985)

- Опубліковано 7 гру 2009
- Song taken from the NWOBHM masterpiece LP of Omega, called "The Prophet" (1985, Rock Machine). This marvelous epic track first appeared in the 1983 "Alpha" demo of the band from London. They were previously known as Apocalypse, with the classic and highly sought after "Stormchild" single.
Line-up:
Nick Brent: vocals & guitar
Steve Grainger: lead guitar, keyboards & vocals
Graham Roberts: drums
Dave Robertson: bass guitar & vocals
Lyrics:
The boy has grown up
The child has died
The scales have fallen
from his eyes
He sees right through
your tangled lies
A blindman cries out
"I see the light"
The hand of friendship
fades in the night
The web of darkness
obscures all sight
Hate renews its
onward flight
A blindman cries out
"I see the light"
This song is UNREAL....I don't know why, but I keep playing it over and over again.....😮
Reminds me a little of Faith No More and Type O Negative. This album needs to be added to Spotify.
Absolutely fantastic
Welcome to the underground NWOBHM cemetery.
The whole song is great but especially the solo is one of the best I have ever heard as a veteran metalhead with 11 year experience.
I come back every once in a while for the solo alone.
This song feels like reaching that place in life where it's just that
Now this is the sound of glorious metal! Hail NWOBHM and Omega for producing such awesome heavy metal music for those with steel ears!
That is a superb track totally blew me away marvellous
Excelente banda❤
Always love me some NWOBHM! The bass is glorious here
When I was child used to listen still listening.....
So much passion in this song! Amazing!
Great love song! ❤
yes man one of my favorite songs¡¡¡ weed plus Omega¡¡
yeah¡
The solo feels 10 times greater with weed
Hail weed and metal
Damn...Omega approaches Queen/Pink Floyd levels of complexity and intricacy in this song....a really awesome song. Kinda reminds me of Deep Purple's Child in Time for some reason...maybe it's just me
Nope. Me too
thats the song that got me here. child in time. been a fan of apocolypse but didn't know this was the same band.
If anyone is looking for this album in the US Sword and Chains Records have copies

Very few know how it feels to listen old school music
Brother, it is one of the BEST feelings in the world. It's like receiving a million dollars. To me at least.
Pedazo de álbum!!!!
*Intensely beautiful. **3:05** The singing is SO touching... 10 minutes go by like it was 2, and whoever disliked this must have* *such an ugly Soul...*
*Listen to **_'Death In June'_** especially 'Rose Clouds Of Holocaust'. You will Love it if you Love this.*

@wizbit101 If not the usual youtube joke, then tell your father that he has written some of the best riffs, solos and lead guitar parts in the history of metal :)
\m/
PLease tell your dad to reunite his band go to tour please. We wait them from many years!!!
@LedZeppelin2055 I've never come across an Omega CD (I have the vinyl edition). There has been a re-release by Metal Legions Records, but I think it was vinyl only as well.
At 4:56 this song bursts into an awesome Rock song!!!
Brian Clark lol that's the truth , wasn't expecting that
@dmitr2004 Nope, this a UK band (ex-Apocalypse), the hungarian same named prog rock band is also cool though.
AMAZING, its great... Did anyone know who is vocal on this song Dave Robertson, Nick Brent or Steve Grainger ?
This is more prog-metal than NWOBHM I think. Anyway this is great band)
The intro sounds kinda like Mike and the Mechanics feel it running.
Yeah it does sound like Silent Running in the beginning
fucking exellent song
More mystical than THE LADY WORE BLACK by Queensrÿche. More poise than PAINTED DESERT by Pat Benatar and it blows my S away more than KNIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN by the Moody Blues...😮
Que paso con esta banda ? Alguien sabe que paso con sus integrantes?
