At the corner of 4th and Central in Northeast Minneapolis, only a faded sign hints at the property's hidden history. The office building used to be the home of a neighborhood staple, but more than 30 years ago, it took a star turn in a Hollywood movie.

I loved this movie as a kid and I just watched it recently. Definitely has some flaws but I don’t care. Great cast. Wish they made movies like this these days.

I agree with SteppenRazor, it's an excellent video.
Coming across this made my day, as any tidbits about this film and its production are always welcome.
"Cohesive community" is correct. The landmarks used are real, local to each other, and exude a certain ambiance of Minneapolis that the film captures and is made to feel all the more real because of it.
Also, it was a good call on casting the local players that they did.

Good movie but I found it rather depressing. A guy was born with a bad heart and is living out his final days because he knows he's dying. Watched at 14 and havent watched it since
