    A note worthy to anyone considering this sander: I bought the Sealey version and it comes with the extraction hose. The Sealay version also holds the setting memory and the paddle varies the speed rather than just on/off. A very sturdy sander which is well balanced, I assume much like the version in this video.

    I got the combo including the PELA sander + vaccum with 3-stage filtration. I'm super happy with my purchase. Insane value in my opinion.

      Hi John, I'm interested in the same combo, how do you find the auto start/stop of the vaccum when a machine is attached to it? I saw in another video that there seems to be a significant delay until the vaccum starts and stops. Also, is it true that you need to empty the water every time you want to use the floor vaccum if you also use it with a machine attached at the top? Thanks!

    • @biffrov
      @biffrov 2 роки тому

      @@Danielss0n I don't find the delay too significant. Maybe 1-2 seconds? As for the water then yes, you need to empty it before using the regular vaccum. But I tend to use the vaccum option on top even if I'm sanding or vaccuming the floor. You don't have to empty the water if you're using the option on top.

    Just bought this machine and it seems like they've addressed some of the issues outlined in this video. The paddle now varies the speed and it also retains the speed setting after it is powered off.

    Can't rely on a Mirka Deros?? We've been using about 8 machines for more then 7 years. We use them every workday about 6 hours per day full power. The engine is an absolute beast! Fibration is minimal, you don't have these tintling hands after hours of sanding and it's very lightweight. I'm amazed how reliable these machines are. Yes parts wear out overtime with this much use, but you can replace every part and we are still using them. Over 7 years only 1 of them is out of service, but we used parts of this one for the other machines. Absolutely love this machine! I'm not saying other brands are bad, we've tested some in the past, but they all failed already. Can't say about Pela either, don't have the experience. But if you can afford the money on a Mirka Deros, go for it! You'll love it!

      Jesper, the only other direct driven random orbital sanders I know of are the Bosch Professional GET series. Bosch actually invented that type of sander, Festool came out with the Rotex to compete with the first generation of the Bosch sanders. I think the current Bosch GET machines is their second generation, and in every single test I've seen, the Bosch is better than the Festool Rotex, in pretty much every way. And, the Bosch machines are less expensive, get less hot, sand better and faster and seem a lot easier to control in direct drive mode.

      @@jesper7666 Varsegod! Gör det! Jag lutar starkt åt en GET75-150 själv till mitt båtbygge, men lite fundersam på om den är lite väl stor och tung (2,7kg typ). De har ju två lägen, normal och turbo (turbo läget är direktdrivet), men vet inte hur bra den är till slutfinish ändå.
      Kan vara så att en Bosch Professional GET 12V-125 är ett perfekt komplement, liten, lätt och smidig och jag har redan deras 12V system.
      Jag har mest använt tryckluftsdrivna excenterslipar innan, framförallt Mirka och 3Ms, när jag jobbat med komposit och metall professionellt, men vet inte om min kompressor alls skulle orka med en sådan :)

    Hi fellow swede, thanks for the honest and thorough review. A question, does this one save the latest used sanding speed when you switch it off (on the button, not lever) or does it always default back to a (the lowest?) speed setting after a restart?

    Kinda interesting you mention that a 125 mm fitrs on this machine. Talked with the seller and they claim it won't work. I was a bit surprised.
    They also claim forgive me for using swedish here "Nej, detta är ingen excenterslip eftersom den inte är oscillerande." What's your opinion about that part?

    • @TheSwedishMaker
      @TheSwedishMaker  3 роки тому +1

      Hey! Interesting. I haven't yet tried to attach a 125mm pad since I don't have it yet, but according to my research it should work just fine with a Mirka style 125 backing pad. I know others have done just that with the same machine from another brand. As for the oscillating part - it says "oscillerande enhandsslipmaskin" on the product page - and I am pretty sure about that part :)

    so now they are in the garbage can, and the company refuses to agnolege that they have heard about the problem.

    Mirka is better. Cheaper blatant Chinese copies will be false economy, flawed and not a reliable long term proposition. They seem to work well but have no variable trigger control and there are many reports of unreliability. In a nutshell you have three alternatives for the best low profile lightweight 150mm sander design which are Mirka, the Metabo or the new 3M sanders.
