I'm not generally Christmassy, but we need more songs like this! My Dad recently passed away, so it makes this more poignant.
I'm sorry for your loss. My mom had passed 19 years ago and Christmas is one of the times when I think of her a lot and this song is amazing for many reasons.
First let me show my sympathy for your loss. My father loved Christmas and he died just one day before Christmas eve. This song was new then and it rang true with every word for my Dad. He had Alzheimer's disease and it ravaged his mind. I can see him in every word of this song. It's truly sentimental to me.My

I am sorry for your loss, lost my dad who loved to decorate the house with lights cutouts and floods. A big speaker playing chrismas favorites finished our display, my house glows and sings for him every christmas hope you like it dad.

My sincerest condolences of the loss of your mother, @Soccer Goalie 86. I lost mine two years ago. I too did not feel like celebrating that Christmas. Hearing this song, sung by these two. Their voices joining so melodiously, seemingly so effortlessly: perfection! Like many who have lost someone very dear, I hope this song reminds us all to look for the Joy of Christmas despite our loss, despite the upheaval of our lives, & despite the grief we all experience. For this Joy that is found in the truest sense of Christmas is healing! It will offer the recovery and peace we need, if we just open ourselves up to it.
