There's so much to be studied in this short vid! It's easy to tell you're a flight instructor. No one can provide such complete commentary on every little thing they're doing and thinking, and you all have that same tone and inflection. This community and product is really lucky to have your time and attention. Thank you BradMick.
Bit late on the comments I know, but interested as to what / why regarding the bob up box....at 4.00, you drop a box and then its not referred to again....what were you doing and why? Thanks!
I explained it in the video before I did it. I'm using the bob-up box to clear the tail of obstacles during the approach. When the box is dropped, it will move to the bottom of the display, this represents 40ft of linear displacement. Immediately dropping a second box, and waiting for it to move to the bottom of the display, means that i've cleared the obstacles I originally marked with the first box by 80ft in total. Since the helicopter is like, 58-ish feet, this provides me with enough clearance behind the tail to safely descend into the LZ. It's an electronic means of clearing the tail.
