I went outside into our woods during storm Darragh, winds 89mph, forecasted 75mph though. My area was really badly damaged and we were in an amber warning. in our square mile village, 8 roofs torn off, substation exploded, 3 power cables, 2 telephone cables down, 2 vehicles rolled, 6 sets of solar panels torn off, 2 trampolines in the road, roadworks everywhere, recycling everywhere, 2 walls down, train station damaged, house fire, shed lifted off its foundations and landed half on the railway line, 9 trees blocking roads, 4 vehicles crushed by fallen trees. My house had 16 trees down, dozens of large branches and split trees, part of the roof blown off, car hit by flying debris, 6 hedges down, outdoor furniture like sofas and benches flipped over and mangled, 3 fences down, severe flooding. The met office failed many of us, NW winds mean weather warnings need to be issued way before they do for SW winds, because trees get caught off guard, buildings aren't as reinforced, solar panels are more at risk, absolute met office failure
oh and 4 cows were killed by power cables

You need some skydiving goggles to protect your eyes from the strong wind.

The waves from Storm Darragh are massive and powerful. I can guarantee you that the UK is expecting to get more storms in 2025.

I got blown off my feet at Happy Valley near the pier.
I was filming at the time so put it on UA-cam.
Later on Llandudno Asda had bits of the roof lifting up.

It had a lot of rain running off the roof too. The gutters were damaged I think.

When getting out of car in those kind of winds put the window down first it cuts the drag by 50%,only found out at the expense is bent door hinges a couple of years ago.

Dam. That would have been awesome! Worth a trip back I say. Thank you for your kind offering. We would have two of hid in a bush shelter to drink the tea as I think mother nature would be pinched it 😆

It beggars belief why folk go out on the water in the storms !? Its a very selfish act, if they get into trouble then they put the coast guards or RNLI at risk...STAY HOME PLEASE

I understand but I love to be out in all weathers and enjoy life. Too many people hide indoors and don’t understand our surroundings. Besides, it’s free entertainment and makes a brew and a Jammy Dodger after taste amazing 😆.

The warning was to advise you not to drive and to stay in doors. A red warning is a threat to life, what would have happened if the roof to the central tram station blew off and landed on your car causing serious damage, potentially injuring you, or worse and writing your car off! Then you would be putting emergency services at risk, expecting the NHS to come and clear up your reluctance to ignore the warnings and keep yourself safe. Totally irresponsible if you ask me and a demonstration of sheer ignorance and stupidity, particularly going up the Orme in those conditions, to be a Hooray Henry, just to get content, comments and likes.

Noted and I understand your point. I’ve been storm chasing for about 30 years. Way before Social Media. It’s my hobby and yes it holds risks, like any extreme sport I suppose. Stats reflect that I’m more likely to be hurt or killed driving on our roads than what I do. I seek ‘safe’ clear areas to film and enjoy Mother Nature and like to share my experiences with others. That Tram building was probably built with the weather in mind hence parking behind it for a tad. Mother Nature does not frighten me, people do.
