We are already living in the future,It would be naive to; deny,ignore or put aside the forthcoming of technology and its presence.
1:50 can't wait to see rocks and debris getting stuck in all those gears, needing very expensive repairs... Also, can't wait to see it handle snow and ice.
Actually the shown concept is unfortunate. Some friends and I developed a similar concept but the motor is centered and connected to a topologically optimized Wheel via a planetary gear. Might be a Bit heavier But also much More reliable.

I own a towing company in Richmond , VA. And I would love to have one of the things that carries the cars to the parking spot in the parking garage, because I could double my towing if I could offer towing services to parking decks. If I had one of those machines, I could tow anything from a parking deck!!!!!

I live in Sweden an have been close to the towing business. Both as car mechanic and by friends and a brother who drove tow truck. Therefore your info made me curious. Do you transport, or deliver, fully functional cars for costumers?
I can't remember I ever heard of that kind of service in sweden.

A robot to park your car. If used internationally we could cut down the size of our parking lots and convert more space into green spaces. Also increase the number of places to live. It is cool what car max does and some places. Most of the time though we really don’t use our cars except of course for delivery drivers. Personal cars are mainly about going and coming when you want to and going to where you need to go. Public transportation is coming and going on there schedule and going to where there routes are. Uber, Lyft, and taxes give you that freedom in a sense with a delay and at a higher cost.

As soon as cars start flying they are no longer cars but rather planes helicopters or whatever new flying machines will be named. Cars drive on wheels boats float so on and so forth.

You can be licensed to drive a car after a 15 minute test at the DMV. Flying an aircraft is significantly different. If something goes wrong in the air, you can't pull over. You need to know max glide slope etc. and react quickly. You don't have the luxury of reaching into the glove compartment and searching through the owner's manual...

The so-called “power wheel” in this video is designed to be too expensive, on purpose. It’s not an alternative to a regular car. Also, the voice in this video may or may not be human. And it shouldn’t matter, because machines are people, too.

If something happens to a normal wheel. Change it !! a planet style wheel is a different case. If something happens you need a truck. I also see wheel's everyday, that the driver, has gotten some serious curb rash. Can the wheel take that. Only time will tell

People have tried to do flying cars as long as cars have existed. Nothing new really... same problems still plague the prospect. The driver would need both a drivers license and a pilot's license, and then flying a plane is inherently more risky and demanding than driving a car.
I can't really see flying personal vehicles "Taking Off" any time soon. Power lines, buildings, wind, inability to stop in a reasonable distance and woman drivers kills the thought! Recreational use, maybe.
With today's economy where it takes 30 yrs to pay off a house there won't be flying cars any time soon. If you make $40k annually an average new house on the east coast is $420k. That's 10+ years of work to buy a house. Vs 1950s where people made $4k.and average new house was $10k
I can remember my Mom telling me they bought their house for $11,580 and the payments were $91 per month. My Father had a very good job and made $3.08 per hour. Mom worked for Sears at $1.27 per hour. And she worried about the house payment. I also remember the price of gas going up and cigarettes, Mom said if they hit $1.00 per package she'd quit smoking. Both of those happened. Cigarettes went up, Mom quit smoking! The 60's was a great time to grow up, until it wasn't.

the rest is marketing babbling at its finest, maybe some inventions are perfectioned or in reach for the market by now, but I see no real innovation, not to speak of "another level"

Was there a point? It's perfectly fine if there wasn't but honestly when something like this is posted with no attempt to show relevance to the topic, it becomes meaningless. Like that one guy who's always on the corner letting everyone know the world is ending. Even it it was, he's usually ignored because of a lack of any relevance. Now if it's during a pandemic or a few super volcanoes show signs of waking, people are likely to pay a bit more attention. So how about you make an effort to, at the very least, make it relevant to the topic.

OMG what a low quality video! ORBIS didnt reinvent wheel just to make it lighter its an electric motor that is bilt in hub which is lighter than conventional rim+brakes+hub but first of all its electric motor with 50 hp.
