    Personally I prefer Beckett over PSA. I've seen many people get back an order and 1 card (that looked great) with a "no name" player get a very low grade. And in that same order the same card (that looked worse) with a star player get a 10. I even know a guy who purposely put bad cards in his order to get a better grade on the next card. He got a PSA 8 on a card, broke it out and did this trick and the card went from an 8 to a 10.
    Everything I've done with Beckett has been very fare and consistent. That and I like that it's harder to get a 10 with Beckett.

      I have yet to try Beckett, but might soon. I will have to be very selective. I have heard of lots of people cracking out and resubmitting to PSA or other grader. I kind of want to try for an experiment, but not sure I want to pay twice. Thanks for comments and checking out video.

    Not too bad on the returns. The thicker and darker cards are always tough to get 10s. I only tend to grade PC stuff, so grades are less important than the display, protection factor. End of the day it's one dudes opinion I guess, and that makes consistency hard to predict. Cool vid and opinion piece.

      Yes, the thicker cards can be tough, so not too bad on some of those. I mix in some PC cards, but try to sell some to cover my grading costs. Thanks for watching.

    For me PSA is the only choice. I've tried others too but the resale price difference is staggering. I understand we don't all grade to sell. I screen and prep my cards before grading and am fairly strict with modern stuff. So far I've found them to be very accurate.

      Thanks for the comments. Yes, the resale value of PSA graded cards can be quite the difference. One of the big reasons my last 4-5 submissions was with them other than a trial with TAG. 👍

    Nice grade on the Robertson Draft Day. Too bad about the Caufields. I don't think PSA is that consistent. Last year we got better grades than expected and this year we got lower grades than we expected. I like the PSA slabs the best and it is easiest to grade with them by dropping off the cards at the Toronto Sports Card show. Thanks for sharing.

      Yes, for me, PSA is easiest to get graded with by dropping them off at card show or with a local PSA group sub rep. Was pleasantly surprised with Robertson, as wasn’t sure how that thicker card would get graded. Missed out on the Caufield, as thought 2 had good chance at a 10. Thanks for checking it out.

    The cost grading is too expensive for me. I wonder if PSA will get saturated within the next year. Especially with all the Bedards to hit the market soon.

    • @rsportssquared
      @rsportssquared  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes, can be costly. I try to figure out ahead of time on how many cards I will need to sell to break even. Can be risk though, as card prices go down and not sure what the cards will come back at. Hockey is much lower in graded cards than other sports, but they have bigger market as well. I can see a lot of Bedards coming though as you say.

    I hear people complain about psa not being consistent but i have never graded anything so i cant say i would say your grades were pretty good overall

      Seems a little more stingy on the 10s recently or maybe card quality control is also worse. Thanks for checking out the grading video.

    I have been extremely lucky with grading with psa like a 85% gem rate so far and I don't see using any other grading company as an option.
    I know psa slabs may not look the best to some people, but they are the most known and are at the top of the grading industry so grading with anyone else really isn't an option I personally think.
    Now, with grading consistency, I just think people should look there cards over better and if you don't think it's going to ten you really shouldn't send it unless you want to slab a PC card, because if it doesn't ten you really can't profit that much from grading.
    Anyway those are my opinions on the matter of grading.

    PSA seems to be controlling the grades now. Fewer 10’s being given out. The Bedard effect.

    • @rsportssquared
      @rsportssquared  9 місяців тому

      Yes, at least from my experiences and watching others, seems like a few less 10’s. The number of Bedards going to be graded will be huge. Thanks for watching.

    If you’re keeping for yourself is it worth grading?

    • @rsportssquared
      @rsportssquared  9 місяців тому

      I would say up to the individual. Some like to collect graded PSA sets. I only keep a small percentage of the cards and sell the majority of them over time. It can be costly grading, so cover my grading costs first with selling off a number of them. Thanks for commenting.
