If the way youtube was returned to the "quality" of early youtube, people wouldn't even bother showing up. Content used to blow hard ass, being tiny little videos, terrible amateur quality, or just random stealing of other's content like music. It's easy to assume that a coorperate mentality causes a dip in good shit on the site, and some people do make some attempt at steering the system, both in algorithms and carefully not offending people, but in reality they've only gotten better and better. Trust me, youtubers still enjoy making videos, job or not. There's no way the entirety of the site is a hive mind with like feelings, each person will be motivated differently. Especially since virtually none of them planned on becoming large.
A real reason to be depressed is if a family member dies or a friend. Maybe your dad or moms a crazy abusive parent or they have to go to the hospital everyweek. Or all your friends left you and your life just gets worse everyday. Or maybe you lost your home. Loosing 3 subs isnt a reason to be depressed. I used to sub to Burns because he made entertaining content for awhile. This video glossed over a real big part of that "incident' that the person did more than just post his personal info. The person posted his Parent's personal information ranging from phone numbers and addresses. His parents started getting harassing mailings and phone calls ranging from death threats to "suspicious" mailings. That's what REALLY set Burns off. Would've set me off too personally. And quite frankly. people unsubbed from Burns because he stopped making videos due to not being interested in making them anymore, not because of a BS "exposed" video like what's implied here. You got the distinct impression that he was getting bored with them as the videos came along. There was a bit of flak I'm sure from the "angry" video or whatever I'm sure, but Correlation =/= Causation here.
A lot of people say that's all he did but you're wrong. I'm not a fanboy of his but you need charisma, wit and personality to pull off what he achieved. Is he stealing viral videos/content to fuel his own? Of course. But look at how underwhelming all of the subsequent =3 hosts have been.
The other hosts are underwhelming due to the way in which they are hosting.. They are all just mimicking RWJ which is why it always looks unnatural when you watch them. Obviously you need some level of wit and personality, but that isn't hard work at all. Thus, RWJ definitely doesn't deserve his success.
Those people probably tried to come in with their own style and probably felt insecure after reading floods of abusive comments saying 'bring back ray'. Being a consistently witty and funny personality for a successful youtube show is very hard work, actually. Tell that to Conan O'Brien and all of those successful talk-show hosts who work very hard. You need to act a certain way, pretend to feel funny and happy even if you feel shit. You could call it a form of acting, almost. Turning the charm on like a lightswitch. Your flat humour and bad mood will show up easily if you don't have the gift for being an on-screen personality. If you don't, people get sick of you too. All creative content is hard work - there are just varying degrees of difficulty and people try to play to their strengths. Some pull it off better than others.
RWJ was the only UA-camr (on this list) that lost subscribers without controversy. In fact, on his last episode of Equals Three, he predicted this would happen. He confessed that he wanted to end the show while it still received millions of views per episode. Due to eager fans, he allowed the show to continue but knew that the show's fate was inevitable and said the show would end if the fans didn't like the new host(s).

Unless i'm understanding this wrong, Minnesota Burns is losing subscribers because he threatened to bash a kids teeth in because the kid threatened to leak his personal info? How the fuck is this MB's fault?! Thats seriously the most logical reaction you'd give in that situation. Like if someone in person said something along those lines,you'd probably freak out and want to beat up the person saying that.
I used to sub to Burns because he made entertaining content for awhile. This video glossed over a real big part of that "incident' that the person did more than just post his personal info. The person posted his Parent's personal information ranging from phone numbers and addresses. His parents started getting harassing mailings and phone calls ranging from death threats to "suspicious" mailings. That's what REALLY set Burns off. Would've set me off too personally.
And quite frankly. people unsubbed from Burns because he stopped making videos due to not being interested in making them anymore, not because of a BS "exposed" video like what's implied here. You got the distinct impression that he was getting bored with them as the videos came along. There was a bit of flak I'm sure from the "angry" video or whatever I'm sure, but Correlation =/= Causation here.
If you're gonna make a list of these, at least include numbers of their subscribes loss, estimates at least. We came to hear those

A lot of people say that's all he did but you're wrong. I'm not a fanboy of his but you need charisma, wit and personality to pull off what he achieved. Is he stealing viral videos/content to fuel his own? Of course. But look at how underwhelming all of the subsequent =3 hosts have been.
The other hosts are underwhelming due to the way in which they are hosting.. They are all just mimicking RWJ which is why it always looks unnatural when you watch them. Obviously you need some level of wit and personality, but that isn't hard work at all. Thus, RWJ definitely doesn't deserve his success.
Those people probably tried to come in with their own style and probably felt insecure after reading floods of abusive comments saying 'bring back ray'. Being a consistently witty and funny personality for a successful youtube show is very hard work, actually. Tell that to Conan O'Brien and all of those successful talk-show hosts who work very hard. You need to act a certain way, pretend to feel funny and happy even if you feel shit. You could call it a form of acting, almost. Turning the charm on like a lightswitch. Your flat humour and bad mood will show up easily if you don't have the gift for being an on-screen personality. If you don't, people get sick of you too. All creative content is hard work - there are just varying degrees of difficulty and people try to play to their strengths. Some pull it off better than others.

He confessed that he wanted to end the show while it still received millions of views per episode. Due to eager fans, he allowed the show to continue but knew that the show's fate was inevitable and said the show would end if the fans didn't like the new host(s).
Well if he ever does an update I can promise you Laura Lee will be on it. There is a live video of her subscriber count just dropping like flies
