- In this video I will show you how to upgrade the two washers in the 2019 Daiwa Certate LT for Daiwa Exist LT bearings. Originally, the 2019 Certate LT only comes with 10+1 CRBB but you are able to make it have 12+1 CRBB just like the Daiwa Exist LT! I will also show you how to modify the drag clicker to make it louder.

Sweet upgrade! I just got myself a Certate LT 4000-CXH and thinking about doing this. If you can add this info to your description, it will help a lot of people. Daiwa part numbers are G52-2705 (7x11x2.5mm) and G21-2503 (6x10x2.5mm), they go for $12.76 and $11.15 respectively from Daiwa USA +$6 shipping (~$30 total). Bearings can be found from any decent bearing supplier under ref. MR117 and MR106, make sure the balls are of stainless steel and not chrome steel. I purchased my bearings from an RC hobby supplier for $7 total shipped within the US. Most bearings, even from reputable companies are manufactured in China and stamped with the brand, and the US ABEC grades are not very relevant for our application, ABEC reflects only how precise is the size of the balls, which is not critical as reels are not high precision instruments with very heavy axial loads at high rpms (this comes straight from someone that worked in this industry for a long time). These bearing references will fit ALL Certate LT 2019 models. These are NOT sealed bearings (and there are no sealed version of these sizes available), the one inside the spool is pretty well protected so that one is a safe bet. However the one just above the clicker is much more exposed and may fail early if you fish hard on salt water. To prevent this, best thing to do is to pack both bearings with marine grease or if you want to go the extra mile, mix a bit of Corrosion-X oil with Cal's grease and use this to pack the bearings. -Tight lines
Thanks for the info. I'll try and post it when I get a chance. Somehow I lost track of time with my internship that I forgot to check my youtube videos 😅
Any idea if these bearings will fit on 5000 xh size Certate ?
I own two certate lt’s and they both fitted more line then expected. Thanks for the tip about the drag sound!
I agree on the line capacity. I should be posting the line capacity video soon. I got busy with work so haven't had time.
Dude I just replaced the bearings you showed and the drag to Carbontex , the drag is much much much smoother now.
great work bro Lb + P.E lines always confusing me tbh lol
The Daiwa Certate LT to me is like dating a sophisticated chick who will give you a great time but just be prepared to give her that extra maintenance if you want her to remain beautiful.
I had the 3000 size that got pulled by a big Spanish Mackerel never to be seen again but I love the reel so much I did not mind buying it again
Thanks for the content since this is what I plan to do next.
Tight lines 🤙
I've been lucky so far.
Got something to learn louder clicking 🔊
Hi, thanks for the video, I especially enjoyed the trick with the drag clicker as it worked for my Airity LT 2500.
I have a few questions and would love your input.
I intend to upgrade my two Daiwa Airity LTs (sizes 2000D and 2500D) with those two spool and shaft bearings that you just showed, and also swap out the oiled felt washers in the drag for carbon washers instead.
So my question is, do you think I can just do it the way you did and mirror where the Exist has bearings and the the airity doesn't, I'd just order those Exist bearings (and carbon drag washers) for each respective size? ( i.e. For the Airity 2000 I'll order the Exist 2000 bearings and carbon washers, and for the 2500 Airity I'll order the 2500 Exist bearings and carbon washers).
(( NOTE, my reels are of the Airity LT model, not the LUVIAS Airity LT. It's a very similar reel but without the magnesium alloy body and less ball bearings and therefore a bit less expensive ))
Thanks in advance!
Not 100% sure the bearings from the Exist will fit. The only way to know is by comparing the part numbers using the schematics or by measuring the washers to see if they're the same size as the bearings. The Airity looks pretty nice. I may have to check one out.
Great video! I have a LT3000D-XH-ARK. Would you please advise the corresponding part numbers for this model? Thanks!
Yes. I will post as soon as I have a chance.
I have certate lt 4000c. It written on the box pe 1.2 can fit 300m and pe 1.5 can fit 200m. But i can fit around 280m using pe 1.5. The diameter on the box is for daiwa j braid and j braid is little bit different from other japan braid diameter
You're right. Daiwa use X4 J-Braid.
Great video. I have a 2500lt xh and can hopefully find the bearings for that
When I get a chance today I'll look up the part numbers for your 2500.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 thank you!
The bearing part numbers for your Certate 2500-XH (Exist 2500-XH) are:
6G212503 (Inner Spool Ball Bearing)
6G522705 (Spool Support Ball Bearing).
@@fishingoffthei-5576 thank you so much! I can order these from Diawa’s page?
@@anthonypierro5296 yes. Call Daiwa and give them the part numbers. If you live close by you can stop by and pick them up.
Are those parts going to fit on Certate 5000d xh ?
What about replacing the drag washers with carbon ones
Nice
Do you know if the part#s are the same for the 4000chx as the d-c?
nice tips thanks for :) ! have you the bearing ref for the 3000 xh or its same of 4000 xh ? i want to do the same now.
Let me check in a bit.
Thanks for the vid, got the exact same reel coming, putting 22lb pe 1 line on, what should I do because the line i bought is only 200m
You can do a mono backing to make up for the rest.
Your washers are called bushings but nice work. I've found that Swiss Swedish and German bearings the best with the Swiss Ceramic as close to a perpetual motion machine.
I may have to check those out later. So far these appear to be holding up great. Still smooth as butter.
Bob, do you have any reference #s or part #s and websites for the german swiss ones?
super video, i have a daiwa certate lt 3000xh. I will be very happy if you tell me what bearings I need and where to get them. thanks in advance.
Sorry for the late response. I'll check tomorrow in the evening when I get a chance. I have been super busy with my internship that I forgot to check my online accounts.
Hi, great video indeed.
I find out the bearing to be respectively 7x11x2.5 and 6x10x2.5. Cheers
Did you notice a difference after you did the upgrade? My certate feels so silky smooth already. Thanks for the video I will have to try this.
Liked and subscribed how you bring out more content like this
You will only notice this on the drag (when you hook onto a fish). It fells much smoother than with the plastic/metal Bushings.
Wozu soll das anbringen der Kugellager helfen? Hoffe auf Antwort.
One question, I know is not from this topic but still...does your Certate have that "raspiness" sound when you turn the handle? It's barely noticeable but I can hear it :/ I own LT 5000D size one(sorry for my bad English)
Not mine. Mine is very smooth even after I have semi dunked it in the surf.
Hi, any idea on the same parts for an upgrade of the 19 Certate LT5000D - are they the same for the 4000 ?
If I remember correctly, they appear to be the same parts. I would double check the schematic tho just to be sure.
Hi there! Is there a power handle available for the Certate LT 4000? I'd like that size with a power knob
Yes there is. If you want oem then look up RCS power knob or else just go with a Gomexus knob.
The Certate LT ARK model comes with stock power knob.
Can you change both bearings with the 5000 series?
For which size?
can this part g52-2705 be used on Certate 2 or 3 series?
Thanks
I'm not sure. You can cross reference the part numbers to see if they're the same.
Is there any upgrades to do on my 5000 Ark ?
Yes. I believe someone in the comments said the same bearings I used also fit the 5000 size.
do mind where you bought the bearings from?
Direct from Daiwa in Cypress California.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 Thanks a lot!!
I just bought one, it has a tiny bit of back and forward play in the handle is that normal?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I got busy with school I forgot to log in. No not normal. Mine doesn't have any play.
Hi, can you please share the website where you to get the two bearings from?
You have to call Daiwa and order on the phone.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 thanks
hey i just received mine today, the 5000 model, but it makes weird noise when reeling, kind of like the gear and bearing is not properly greased or something, hard to describe but i was wondering if you encountered the same experience? thanks in advance.
Hi, no, mine was buttery smooth. I have fished it in the surf at least 10 times so far. It's still as smooth as day one. Maybe try switching it out for a new one.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 Mine sounded noisier and like something was rubbing on something on moderate to low reeling speed, which is really weird…
@classydriimz1403 that is very weird. Does the reel have any damage? Check the bottom plate to see if it may have been dropped. If so, you may see some hairier fracture that aren't visible unless you really look for them.
Should I order ceramic or stainless?
I ordered the original bearings that come with the Daiwa Exist. I believe they're stainless.
You know that bearings is good for 5000lt ????please tell me. Thanks a lot
I need to check the schematic since they don't make a 5000 size Exist.
Valy Valy the washer part numbers for the Certate lt 4000D-C, 5000D, and 5000D-XH are the same. Therefore, the bearings I used on my 4000D should work on the 5000 size.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 thanks bro, bat with the cod number it's impossible to find it, you know the size of the bearings??? I find ceramics bearings in France, but I don't know the size (interior and exterior....) if you know, please tell me... thanks again....
@@valyvaly3592 I don't know the size of the bearing. Call Diawa direct and they will ship them to you.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 OK bro, thanks again
I try making the drag louder but it just doesn’t work now any idea why?
Do you put it back exactly how you removed it?
@@fishingoffthei-5576 I think I did I was following your video exactly the way you were doing it was there something that need it to be aligned maybe I miss it?
@@williammata6019 yes. It needs to sit flat on the plate. If you put it backwards it won't work. I can email you a picture of how it's suppose to sit.
@@fishingoffthei-5576 thank you su much I would really appreciate it

I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 4000 CXH VS 4000 DC. SOMEBODY PLEASEEEE HELP ME!!!
CXH has a higher gear than DC. Meaning you're able to retrieve more line per turn.
Hello, It seems that when there is a C in the name, that means Compact. I will buy the same as you this month and I compared schematics: a 4000 DC has the same body and gear than the 3000D. Ratio is the same but spool and bail are larger that makes bigger retrieve (+5cm).
Bye
@@christophemichou2852 thank you so much. yes, I ended up purchasing the 4000 DC. everything seemed similar but the spool size was different. with the same weight, why not for the DC. CXH is more like an inshore reel, but the DC has the versatility to be used in any setting.
