A PP user for over a year here and I just learned that motion feature lol. I always used the select zoom level menu or the scale feature to see how much real estate I have. For people who are just watching this video, if you don't see that button in the effect controls then it means you're using a newer version and that button doesn't exist anymore. Why? Who knows. The feature IS still there but it's hidden. To get that layout you either can double click on the preview screen or, you just click on the Motion title once which is right above the position in the effect controls panel. Great video, liked and subscribed.
Loving the tilt effect, how it adds a bit more (false) dimension (thanks for that!) and it didn't hurt me to hear you mention "subtlety" a few times, as I tend to be too heavy-handed with such things ("Well it SEEMED cool when I was editing", but it's just crude upon repeated viewings). Nice work.
Like, yes. Subscribe, yes. Love this, oh yes. This is my first experience of your instructional videos: clear, systematic, and well-organized and -delivered. Your speech rate is fast, but your articulation can handle it. You appear to have teaching in your blood. Thank you for this generous presentation.
Big fan of the channel, one tip tho, for the clocktower it will look better if you place your anchor point on the clocktower then adjust scale. It will look more natural. Also easing your keyframes and add curves to your paths can help with your movements
Master Drone Photography there's nothing wrong with dreamweaver, there are just easier methods to making a website these days. But anyone over a certain age has worked with it at some point. I'm sure younger people wouldn't understand.
You cannot move your clip, if you don't scale it before. If the frame is 100% whenever you move the position, it will show the black/blank behind. So appearently, you are using a bigger resolution clip in a smaller sequence.
Cool stuff! I'm sure you know, but when you're scaling or zooming... when you click the motion box, you can grab the anchor point and move the anchor point to where you want to scale into or zoom into, then you might now need to use the position key frames
Nice tutorial, Nathaniel. I shoot a lot of fairly dry interviews with academics and use Scale keyframes to add interest to some of the shots. Zooming in very slowly is a very effective way of making the interviewee more engaging. The little bit of movement makes the video easier to watch, and it feels like you're being drawn-in to what the interviewee is saying. I can't wait to try the 3D tilt effect!
The thing people need to understand though is making digital movement is actually more similar to a camera zoom then a camera movement. It's different by it's perspective. This will increase the size of everything proportionally while a real camera movement will increase different sizes based on distance to the camera. If you REALLY wanna look cinematic than shoot the video with the movement. Still nice for people to know this is an option, but that is something one needs to keep in mind. Number 5 though I will say is a nice trick I didn't think about to better fake the perspective.
Hi , great video!! I got a question. I bought a 13" 2015 MacBook Pro 7 months ago brand new from Apple. I don't have any problem watching videos on the internet on 4K or HD( UA-cam). But when I try to view my own videos from cameras, 4K plays fine but I can get HD (1080) it looses quality. Do you know why it can't handle HD ? Thank you!!
Nice video and great info. One thing. After each example before you move to the next could you show a Full Screen shot the example. It's hard to see the subtle motion sometimes when it still small in the premiere window. Thanks.
That's a great point. I'll make sure I do this in future videos so you can see a better example of what is changing as we build the effect(s). Thanks for commenting!
Easy to say, when you have every singe one of your shot in that strange, very weid angle. When I am shooting with my Canon 70d, I've got just a HD clip and that's it. What ratio do you use?
It depends on what I'm shooting. I'll shoot in 4k when I have the option and I can downsample to 2.5k or 1080p. I can shoot anamorphic to get that wider angle shot like I have in this tutorial, or if I only shot in 1080p, I'll scale the clip up a little tiny bit and trade off a *little* bit of quality to get a little movement in my shot. Hope that helps, man!
At the 1:25 mark, how do you achieve that zoomed in view on your mouse? I see it's tracking the mouse so I'm guessing it's done in Ae? Do you have a video showing how to do it?
Really like your tutorial man. You're talking fast, but you are always very good at expaining all the different steps you are taking. I recentely picked up videoediting with Premiere Pro CC and it´s been 14-15 years since I worked with the 4.0 version...so it´s some catching up to do! :-) Good thing UA-cam are around these days, and your Tutvid tutorials really helps a lot!
For everyone who finds his voice over too fast - listen to the video for 30 seconds with 2x speed and try to understand. After that you'll think he is moonwalking backwards in time while explaining.

A couple clips were bigger, but I'll scale a stand HD clip up a little bit if I really want that movement. Just don't scale too much. 👌
Very nice tips Thanks A lot
thanks its was a big help

Still waiting for that call out title tutorial. I'm sure it'll be worth it though 🔥
Is Premier Pro better to use than After Effects? I'm currently using After Effects, but does Premier Pro more or less do the same job? Thanks :-)
This some amazing shit, I just subscribed. Thanks so much!!!
i love you, I mean your videos;) thanks
Haha, thanks
How did u make that zoom lens to show the corner bigger?

Haha, best advice ever 😂😂😂😂
bro can you tell that is there any camera option in PremierePro just like after effects where we can easily put 3d effects on iamges
I'm really thinking about taking a break from FCPX and returning back to Premiere Pro CC
Great tips!
Shannon Hudson, Thank you so much! 🍻
