    So...a video about the 2 clubs I' m closely considering buying n the next 2 -3 weeks. How convenient!
    I tried the TS 3 yesterday! I really liked it! first swing was 330yds Total distance. Wasn't able to replicate that! But everything was over 300yds total distance on a GC2. I was really impressed.

    • @richardsdiaz1
      @richardsdiaz1 6 років тому +1

      I should add... i hit a 9.5* and a 10.5* M3 yesterday too. I hated the shaft (Tensei Blue S 60) they put on the demo clubs, too soft, so it wasn't a fair test. That said i liked the 9.5 head a lot. I smoked it. It's much longer than my gamer which is a 917 D2 at 8.75* loft ( I had to de-loft it to get rid of all the spin it has). I hated the 10.5 M3 head. I couldn't get good numbers with that head/shaft combo.
      the TS3 was even better for me, though. I hit it farther , with less spin, and straighter, than the M3. It had a project X Evenflow S shaft on it. it fit me better, although I prefer an X flex, so again, not a fair test.
      I'm going to get fitted for both and see if there is anything in them. I suspect it's going to come down to aesthetics / comfort level. As I am a Titleist Player through the bag, if I end up liking them equally, I'm pretty sure I'll end up going with the TS3.
      Thanks for this video! It's confirming what my own testing is telling me so far. 2 great clubs, no bad decision here!

    I own a TM M3. Other driver is a 915D3. Tempted to test the TS models now after watching your Titleist videos. They are equal on your course head to head review, but do you think the M3 will get the advantage if it was fitted just like your TS3? Would love to see that on another video.

    Great video again James. Recently got fitted for the TS3 based on your vids. Had the first rocketbalz Driver but spin rate was up at 4000 rpm, got down to 2400 with the Ts3 and added 30 yards to driver. Hoping to see the handicap tumble

    Whoever reviewed the intro to this video for you did a great job James, perfect start to compare these 2 beasts.
    I was fitted last year for the M2 driver, stiff shaft, 9.5 degree loft lifted by 2 degrees giving a slight draw off the face. I play off 17 and would love to be able to push the ball these distances, do you think a mid handicapper would be able to use these clubs well?

    That was fast in terms of on course testing of these two beasts. Been fitted myself in the meantime and the TS3 came on top as well. I found it interesting that you go standard, half inch shorter in terms of shaft lenght. I think 45” is max lenght folks like us should hit. My current D3 is 44.5” and I went 45” with the TS3. It was not much between both in terms of dispersion (maybe because of the new shaft with SFW) and I went 45” to get bit extra out of my drives. I think the TS will be epic and I know you want it in the bag 😁

      Titleist and others are now using a 45.5" standard. I got my TS3 with the Speeder 757 Tour Spec at 45" and that length feels about perfect for this combo.

  • @richardsdiaz1

    I spent an hour being fitted for a driver today! We tested the TS3 and the M3 together. Launch angle, swing speed and ball speed were near identical on most hits for me once i had both dialed in. However, the fitter and I both noticed that on my miss hits, which are usually toward the toe, the ball was carrying much farther and straighter with the TS3. That was enough to make what started as a very difficult decision much easier. I believe, that on the golf course, the extra forgiveness and distance on miss hits is going to make a real difference.
    I ordered the TS3 today. I hope i get it soon because i can't wait to hit the links with it!
    Thanks for all the information you've provided on these 2 clubs, James! It really helped me to make this choice!

    • @todddelgiudice8258
      @todddelgiudice8258 6 років тому +1

      This is what I have noticed with the TS3 vs the Rogue - My longest hits were actually a bit longer with the Rogue but I couldn't replicate them. Distance consistency was MUCH higher with the TS3 for me as was dispersion. My average carry is now right around 280 and I get the same ball flight on every strike.

      Which shaft did you end up with? I did a Titleist fitting day and ended up with the Speeder 757 Tour Spec 78g - 45". Love it!

    • @richardsdiaz1
      @richardsdiaz1 6 років тому +1

      I tried that shaft on my second fitting day. I liked it, too. I ended up a similar shaft, a Diamana D+ Limited WhiteBoard X-Flex at 80g,
      that felt a little bit better for me and gave me the launch conditions I was looking for.
      Here is the long version of my experience, in case you're interested....
      I was initially fitted to a TS3 with a 65g Evenflow t1100 White in X flex. I hit it great that day but I was surprised at the shaft choice however and was never entirely comfortable with the decision. That was largely because it’s 10g lighter than what I usually use. I also noticed that my swing speed was down that day a bit. I suspect its because I was in the gym that morning (ARM DAY).
      When the club came in I ran straight to the hitting bay at the shop to try it and immediately didn’t like it! It felt too light and my dispersal pattern was ENORMOUS! ( I hadn't been to the gym that day) I took it to the range 3 times over the course of a week in an attempt to sort it out. I hated it more and more with every swing!
      I decided to try an experiment. I pulled out an old favorite shaft of mine, a RIP Alpha 75g X flex shaft I’ve had since the days of the Titleist 910 D3. The TS3 was instantly transformed! I was ripping it with control again, able to shape shots!
      So off to the golf shop I went last weekend for a second fitting! I did not go to the gym that day so I was at full strength. We tried both shafts on the launch monitor and the results were the same as my experience at the range. I then apologized to my fitter for my gym session on the day of our first fitting and promised to never do that again. lol.
      We spent an hour going over shaft and sure-fit combinations until we landed on a combo that felt just PERFECT. it’s kind of like Harry Potter getting his wand when it’s just right, isn’t it? Lol! He even had to go into the back warehouse to look for a “new shaft” that had just come in on a hunch that it might fit me! Sadly there was no sudden gust of wind, nor triumphant music, when he handed it to me but there might as well have been. It was that good! I hit several drives in the 303-306 range. Everything was either straight or with a slight draw and it just felt RIGHT. I wasn’t searching anymore! I wasn't fighting my swing. I was just doing my thing again like I usually do. Shaping shots and having fun!
      The final combo was: TS3 9.5. All neutral settings. The shaft is a Diamana D+ Limited WhiteBoard X-Flex at 80g.
      Unfortunately, I had to wait for my magic wand because Titleist had to build it for me, again. The shop couldn't' just swap the shaft. It had to be an exchange. In the meantime I got to keep the TS3 I already had and I stuck my old RIP ALPHA shaft in it. Not a bad compromise considering this was all my fault. I played 2 rounds with it like this and I did just fine!
      I received my new Driver in the proper specs last Wednesday! I've now played 3 rounds with it in this "final" configuration and am finding it is even better on the course than it was on the launch monitor!
      I love the TS3 now and I won't be giving it up any time soon! I think it's the best driver on the market for me!

  • @gregnichol8290
    @gregnichol8290 6 років тому

    Good comparison, not really seeing the point in trying to one up either driver with your approach shots though. It's pretty clear they both look and perform great but any difference in distance is likely from strike or how it bounces when it hits the ground, a not so good iron shot is just that and nothing to do with the driver

    • @JamesRobinsonGolf
      @JamesRobinsonGolf  6 років тому

    • @gregnichol8290
      @gregnichol8290 6 років тому

      @@JamesRobinsonGolf not really sure you could say one is better than the other or one would affect your score more given it's all in the execution of the next shot. If you done a study with the 2 drivers and played x amount of rounds and one was hitting a measurable larger percentage or averaging x amount of yards more then fair enough, obviously that's not really possible but if you are picking the driver best for you, they both obviously perform similarly so it just becomes a looks and feels shootout in all honesty. Still good to watch though we can't really compare drivers by hitting the approaches into greens and claiming this is because of the drive when there are soo many other variable at play

      Yes I was fit for my M3. I have my M3 in a graphite design tour AD-DI 6x Shaft. I spent $800 for it. I thought it was the best head and shaft combo I’d ever find. It was pricey but I thought it could never be beat. Then yesterday I got fit for the TS3 with their stock hzrdus black smoke 60g xflex shaft and it wasn’t even close. My M3 is in a 9 Degree head and my ts3 head is in a 10.5. I think the increased launch angle combined with increased ball speed is why I’m getting more distance. Both spun at 2400. My club head speed was 2mph faster with TS3. It just felt all around faster. I can now say without hesitation, TS3 is the best driver I’ve ever hit. Anyone want to buy an M3 haha?

    Whoever planned the TS launched strategy for Titleist has played a master stroke, I have never seen so many Reviews posted at the same time! It was almost blanket coverage!! Also by organising Driver fitting sessions for most of the Reviews they squeezed the last drop of performance out of the Drivers to ensure that the comparisons with the Reviewers own Drivers were as favourable as possible, pure brilliance!!!!
    The end result is that they have made two OK drivers look better than they really are, when all they have really done is show how skilled their club fitters are.
    Analysing how well this was organised I can only conclude that it was the RUSSIAN`s behind it all, or is that fake news!!!!!!!! LOL

    Going for a titleist fitting today of the ts range and srixons z85 range next week. These and the cobra f8 are on my shortlist. Ruled out callaway, mizuno, ping and tm all if which i have given a good try. I game srixon irons and from the reviews seems might be an additional brand to add to the mix on drivers and likely compare just as favourably with the other known and top brands. Must say also that other japanese brands also have great drivers eg prgr. Also tried those and compare favourably too.

    I tested the M3 and It was terrible didn’t like It. I tried the TS3 and I walked out the store with It. I carried In the 280s for the first time ever. Then I took It for a ride at my range. The back fence is 285 to hit It. And welllllllll yup.... I hit It on the fly.... it’s better than anything I’ve ever hit.
    Bye bye f8+ bye bye rogue and In my bag Titleist Ts3!!!!

    Get fitted for the Taylormade mate and see the difference, because you have been fitted for the TS3

    917 is a good driver for forgiveness and accuracy. It just spins more and a little slower.

  • @flew9296
    @flew9296 6 років тому +1

    The decision is simple. If you have the M3, no need to upgrade as there is practically no gain with the TS3. Save yourself $600.

    there's NO DIFFERENCE...driver's COR is maxed out across the board. It's THE SHAFT that will fine tune and optimize your game...

      That’s a bit OTT Weston... there are subtle differences in the head design and MASSIVE differences in the head make up!

    You should book a TM fitting to optimize the M3

    Wasps! They love your hair gel. Do you want to play golf for many years? The shear force from swing is going to wreck your back.

    • @JamesRobinsonGolf

      Already a back Opp in Thomas. Hence the terrible swing place!

    • @jaredholaday7280

      thomas ross have you seen Colin McCarthy? Check his videos and Instagram out. His swing is jacked up and he mentioned why... back surgeries. Displaced disks, etc... James Robinson obviously knows how to golf and if he could fix his swing to be smooth like the PGA pros, he would. Don’t be so quick to give advice that they already are aware of.

      Jared Holaday I know exactly how to “fix” my swing Jared thanks. Unfortunately it involves some slight adjustments. Thanks for your lack of support though.

      James Robinson Golf Haha no no. I’m saying you obviously know what you’re doing, and can clearly golf your ass off. I was mentioning to the other guy that sometimes swings aren’t ‘perfect’ due to reasons we aren’t aware of. I’m supporting the channel good sir!

    James Wednesday the 5TH Women's Volvik Worlds Long Drive Championship Phillis Meti from New Zealand won her 3rd event 2 in the last 3 years using the best driver made, the TOUR EDGE EXOTIC XJ1! Check it out and check out Touredge.com for all the latest tour wins using Tour Edge equipment without endorsement money, Pro players play these clubs because they are the best they can play with their own money. If I were to choose between these clubs you showcased today it would be the Titleist 3. But I use Tour Edge and will never change.
