Chris is a man of immense patience, with unmatched attention span for this trio to work!!! Peace Out!
Ya Chris is just the dude of the group gotta reel it in every once ina while great show guys
My first 3 grows were in my shed with a 45 dollar blurple light, ocilating fan, miracle grow soil, heater, and Epson salt. They didn't give me huge yields but great smoke. This was late 2018 keep in mind. But can be done cheap. Now I've got 3 tents and close to 1000 watts of LEDs split between them with AC infinity fans and all organic. Start small with what you got and work your way up.
Just into flower on my first grow ever. One big way I saved money was by using the light of a mate who's out of the country at the moment. Not having to buy I light I could invest into other equipment alot more.
Sewing your own fabric pots is also a good one. Mean you can get any size you want effectively free if you scrounge material.
Great podcast as always
I’ve been using basic promix soil and dr earth organic amendments and some worm castings from tractor supply co. Plants are loving everything. Currently starting week 3 of flower. No deficiencies at all through out the grow.
How did your promix look? Mine had a bunch of sticks and chunks of wood in it.
@@sickofthebs93 my promix looks pretty great. I’ve noticed like maybe 1 or 2 little sticks, but nothing to the point where I was concerned or upset with what I got. And the plants are loving it. I used it for all of my vegetables this year too and they did great.
Love Promix and Dr.Earth, get great results.
@@matt22blaster I just finished my run with 3 plants and didn’t even fill up my flower area half way and ended up pulling 18oz. I just reset my flower area with a dozen girls and now I’m in day 3 of flower. Looking forward to the harvest that I’ll pull from a full 6x6 bloom room
If you look on the rafters in most barns there will be piles of free bat guano. Drywall scraps are almost entirely made of gypsum which makes a great source of calcium and ph up. Compost and earthworm bins will save you a ton as well. The things you mostly spend money on are the electrical devices and lights, fans, etc, the soil, the genetics, nutrients, pots, meters and sensors, and the electricity itself.
I started indoor a year ago with a $30 blurple light, a cardboard box lined with aluminum foil, and a $12 personal fan… works for the start of veg, but I quickly upped my game simply because of the love for the plant 🌱 everyone starts somewhere ✨
Exactly the same for me.
I’ve been vegging for months under a flouresant tube but need a better light for flower.
@@chrisw5829 I’m under the impression that those lights are the best for veg. I have a Mars hydro tl2000 in a 2x4 tent, and i run it below 40% power for veg! I have heard of people running a bunch of t5s for flower and getting decent results too though 😂
@@CNMedia.ServiceLight is the limiting factor, you shouldn't choke the light for a mature plant in veg or flower, you lower the quality unnecessarily. Set the distance and evacuate the heat etc...these things can handle sunlight.
As a new grower, currently in my 3rd grow. One thing I HIGHLY stress is, get yr self a good light and a smart hygrometer. I recommend the pulse one or the sensor push. Certain things in life u can't cut corner on, make sure these items u buy right. Buy nice or buy twice
Def don’t skimp on the light. They all might give off the photons but usually the quality of build is off
Hey what kind of light are you using? I'm vegging and flowering under a 315 cmh quality and terpenes is outstanding.
@@hlphilpott an optic slim 650s and a slim 600s with two slim 100 bloom boosters for flower. I run a electric sky es300 v3 and. V1 in veg. Sometimes I use my raymatix 110watt side lights turned all the way down for clone. I have a 1000 watt hps and a 600 watt metal halide that I don’t use anymore
@@hlphilpott oh I bet it’s amazing. It’s just the way I went. I work, I’m a father and I grow so building the grow for me is just as exciting as harvesting
@@growslow4178 that's awesome,
Grateful grower we miss you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you guys for doing this episode. A lot of us are new growers and don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on equipment, nutes , etc. my channel is dedicated to budget growing and amateur experimentation but it’s nice to see guys like you who are in the industry but aren’t so snobby as to ignore us little guys💪🏿
If you want to do a budget grow invest time and labor in finding some good dirt and building a compost pile from leaves and grass clippings and food waste. When u go to the grocery store ask for paper bags that you can shred and compost. Gather other native plants and weeds from around your house and neighborhood and compost. Use sweat to build fertility in an outdoor bed. Might take a year of labor to get it really fertile but then you have the soil for a great outdoor grow
For indoors you might need to spend some money on some Pots and a light but you can make a great soil with native earth and good compost for an indoor grow.
WalMart brand "Expert Organics" dry amendments (bone meal, feather meal, composted poultry manure, and has bacillis). Just cleaned out the clearance rack at $2 per 4 pound bag.
THE MOST UNDERRATED COMMENT IN THIS WHOLE VIDEO:
“His woman is amazing for allowing that”
🤜🏼🤛🏼 💯
I'm a simple man,
I see a new FTSP upload, I smash like
Two extended cut episodes in a row??? Thanks Harvey lol
Lmao!
Just found this episode! I love the on a budget advice stuff guys, thanks for always considering the costs for us. Ok, imma watch it now 😁
You guys literally can set a noob up for success with this podcast alone by hitting it hard over a months time. LISTEN TO ALL OF IT TWICE!! THREE TIMES!! TAKE NOTES!!...Once I get a 2nd light it's fkn end-game. Thank you very much.
These guys are how I learned to grow 💯
@Homegrown yeah I'm only on my fourth grow
personally i find myself rewatching each episode so often the whole thing becimes like a really long epic song that you memorized without trying because you've heard it so often
My game plan!! I’ve been listening to their videos daily for the past 6 weeks or so. My first indoor grow is 10 days in. I’ve never had this much fun learning something so new to me 🎉
I found a travelling luggage rack with a zip up plastic cover that looks like a small grow tent for 20 bucks at Walmart and tossed the cover to use the rack to hang lights and fans. I boxed it in on 3 sides with flat white cardboard panels and duct tape to reflect the light. It gives me a 3x4 space and produces consistently about 5 z with 150hps, 4 CFL, and a small 8" LED adjustable RWB grow light and 2 small fans
Electric bill for the entire set up is about 20$ /month.
Roots organic terp tea u can grow on a 2 part system for $15 a bag plus also offer microbe charge and a bloom booster…all are brewable, top dressable and water soluble and organic stuff is cheap and best nutrition I’ve ever used
280 4 medical grow approval here n Missouri then grow gear... Definitely gotta budget
Love the vids guys. I’m a new grower and all your vids helped save me a ton of time and heartache
I have a little 2x2 tent and use 9,5W 6500K led bulbs (18€ 10pc.) for the veg. and a sf1000 for flower and don't have constant airflow and my plants are looking still good
Great topic guys! I can't advocate enough for people being able to find a way, regardless of budget or accessibility to "proper" grow equipment. Of course I'd never advocate to cut corners or take risks when it comes to electricity and potential of fires, but there are good ways to go about growing on a restricted budget. Way to go :)
Don't cut corners for best results.
My first light was a 150hps with 4 crl spirals for side lighting. I have since added an LED. Total in lights 300 bucks. I get about 5 z in a 3x4 area each run. I have a veg mom chamber in another room I got for 10 bucks at a garage sale, an old phototron with a top light I added and fans in at the bottom and out at the top. I can use it to make clones when necessary. I've been lucky to be blessed with an ideal environment without much effort. It remains about 75 f and 50 to 70 percent humidity year round and allows for good air flow. No pests or mildews other than the occasional fungus gnats.
Good video I had to buy all my gear 1 thing a month and now I finally have my first grow in flower thanks for all you do !!!
I got a fecida 600 w with 60 w draw from Amazon. It's 70 quid dimmable, up and down facing fan, adjustable and full spectrum with white blue and red diodes. Ppfd is amazing in 2x2 space. I nowhave3. One in the vedge area. And two in flower. 👌
The fecida will after time Not turn off correctly. Pls check after your timer goes off, especially in flower. Yes i changed both of my fecida out. Great light when it works correctly
here in canada the weed is a monopoly i am stuck between a rock and a hard place..... small tent grows work for now,,,, lots of good grow videos out there ,,, thx again...peace and pot.
I started with a 2x2 box made out of insulation panels taped together and 2 150w hps flood lights. 2 gallon pots, Miracle grow potting soil and fertilizer. Added dolomite lime and Epsom salts. Got about 3 O's that was damn good smoke! I did get afghani seeds from a friend he got from Amsterdam. Definitely made all the difference! That was 23 years ago! Lol
I use a product called Gold Leaf 1 part nutrient 5-4-9 no ph very low in salts. I'm on my 3rd grow and my plants love it.
Five gallon buckets from Lowes and Walmart are way cheaper than any pot from a hydroponic store. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to things like pots I bought 2 and 1/4 gallon mop buckets from Dollar Tree for a dollar. I look to cut cost on things like this because all my money goes into the important things like genetics. Seeking sponsorships is a good way to get free things if you have an established social media platform.
Happy frog soil $12 a bag , 30 gallon smart pot $4 , Clones at dispensary $20 , General Hydroponics Flora-Nova $14 Boom here in Norcal we have triple digit heat. Plants grow massive a 20 gallon will dry up in a day.
20:50 restaurants will give you pickle buckets by the tons. I also use half native soil with my grows outside. I always thought the soil was best suited for the environment..but I add a shit ton of shit though. No matter what, you'll get hooked on growing. That means you'll wanna research everything possible about the subject, which presents new avenues of knowledge you didn't even knew existed. Those are your babies and you'll always want the best for them.. and just like a junkie does.. he finds that money for them 😊
When I first started out, before investing in a tent, my first few grows were in the spare bathroom shower! It was perfect, tiles & full glass enclosure worked well reflecting the light around.
The 3 🐐 of the game at one time freaking mind blowing 🤯
I got a 2x2x5 for £35 it has massively improved the effectiveness of my little viparspectra £80 being in a prohibition country i need ac and filter, but if not id just put fans in the duct sleeves. You guys are a big inspiration one love!
I started with what I had, I am constantly up grading grow equipment. I built a room with 2x2 framing and panda film a cheap Amazon light, and a couple of fans.
ecothrive life cycle
ecothrive insect frass
ecothrive biosys
plagron guano
.
would love to copy canuck but ghia green is super expensive in the uk
Shout out to the greatful grower we all miss his knowledge
I think a dimmable maxisun light is a for sure purchase as of right now. I am loving the lights for the price.
I told my friend to trade me his two Maxisun MF2000 (140$ light) for my Spider Farmer SF7000 (740$ light)
No issues at all with it I just want less watts for my wife peace of mind.
Who thinks this is a good trade?
Loved the episode fellas. Much appreciated once again. I’ve learned so much from you guys,
Cheers!
I got a Mars hydro fc 4800 brand new can’t wait to use it !!
I’m a newer grower but I think you should keep the 7000. Seems most I’ve seen have no need to run at 100% so majority of grow you’ll be pulling lower wattage anyways ✌🏻
That was a mistake… lol
I agree with Pigeons in running lights at night being potentially cheaper, it's also cheaper because it's colder at nights so not running an ac as hard to get to the correct temps as well too, or may make it so you don't need to invest in that AC unit.
IF you're going to get a AC unit go ahead and get one that dehumidifies too, I bought a de humidifer and realized it spikes my temps up way too much so it was a silly purchase when for another $100-200 i could of gotten the combo unit.
Speaking of grateful grower, he was a fantastic grower, and the one that made me want like 1-2+ lb plants indoors, there's so many old gems that've left youtube, like Wizard NPK was a MONSTER grower too, and a wealth of information he worked some magic with bamboo stakes..
hope to see them come back sometime.
Rob is the man
Thanks guys!! Very helpful💯
Ooh Chris I’ve totally had that happen to me a huge king size cone completely dipped in wax and rolled in keif almost had a generic blueberry flavor came in this glass tube and ish just didn’t get me high
grateful grower was awesome ! hope he comes back and comes on your show
I'm a new grower and I guess the thing I'm more interested than anything in is the genetics. I'd love to hear you guys discuss where you get your seeds (reputable businesses) and why you choose to grow autoflowers or feminized or clones...the pros and cons of these different approaches. In this episode you touched on flavour vs potency but you didn't go very deep into it...I'd love to hear more!
What is the fair price for a seed, knowing how much work goes into cultivating a strain? Is there a seed company that you return to again and again because the results are consistent and reliable?
Great show!
Thanks!
Can't discuss that on UA-cam, we risk getting strikes.
Check out our Twitch show for less restrictions
I'm using a T5 2bulb
Fixture cost $18, $15 in bulbs
3 gallon pot (free)
2x4x5 tent ($40 used)
Fan $10
I started with dollar store mylar (camping section) wrapped around a hoola hoop for a single plant with a 45 watt root farm light from Walmart. It worked amazing for a start.
It's all just as important as one another to get it dialed in correctly to get the best potential out of it but personally the efficency of the lights so getting a good light would be no.1 for me since it uses the most electricity and is the biggest rolling cost!
Thanks to u guys and the knowledge spilt i'm on my second grow with more confidence and now have 4 plants in my tent.
I love when all 3 of yall niggas are talking game bro. Great shit
You know what works really good is Dr.Earth ! I’m running that for a grow rite now and doing really good 👍🏻 my first grow space was a hollowed out book shelf warped in panda film with a computer fam with a home Depot grow light bulb 💡! It worked for a first run until it stared to stank had to build a exhaust fan and filter ! Threw so sh!t together for that !
Guru from dgc says low ppm isn't a huge issue for chloramine because ones it's under regular atmosphere it's not nearly as antimicrobial anymore
What I can say from my experience with PH testers.
I started with a cheapo $10-$15 meter from Amazon. It worked well for a month or 2 then started acting up and couldn’t get it to calibrate right.
After that, I switched to the PH Strips which is a very cheap route. But I can without a doubt say that the strips worked better than the cheap PH pen. It worked well just comparing the color chart and never had issues.
After awhile, I became uncomfortable not knowing the exact PH value of my input water. I purchased an Apera PH-20 which is a high end budget friendly PH pen ($50ish) comes with 4.0 and 7.0 calibration fluid and a nice case to hold it all as well.
Couldn’t be happier with my purchase and it’s been smooth sailing ever since.
I'm and old time smoker 70s very new to growing. You guys have helped me so much. I got into this bc the weed is so better now. Getting off track I would like to know what bowl pigeons is smoking from. PEACE LOVE YOU GUYS
Great conversation. 💯 percent true about phenotype specific. I have not grown 1 cultivar that compared to the commercial flower I consumed that caused me to purchase the beans
My first setup cost just over $200
3x3 ipower tent-$70
400w ipower hps/mh kit(wing reflector) $120
6in booster fan $25
Now just a few years later it’s 2 4x4 tents and about to add another. One good harvest will have you upgraded.
Thanks for the info, and thank you Chris for finding me on ig if that was you.lotta love❤️❤️❤️👍🏾
Right on on the vid fellaz👌🙌👊👍 I'm a farmer so I have some parts of the native dirt blended together with the organic, potting mix still using it on the budget I just ensure there taken care of on storage and when used in mostly cycle in with water,Dawn soap, in between the grows yah know just so the it'll kinda be clean for another plant.now were back on the flux temps again on the tropics.and the greatful grower aswell pretty solid greatful dude.water use also do let it sit out,my food and native medical herb plants just water the hoses.but yah big upz dawgs 👊👊🙌🙋
I collect rain water and pump it to barrels in my basement. It is 6.5 ph and under 50 ppm TDS.
Omg greatful grower... over a 100,000 subs and missing in action for over 3years 😢 please come back . Great episode!! Cheers 🇨🇦
Woop woop. New podcast🥳
Brother's love the tips great information for everybody we are always trying to sharpen the pencil as far as cost per gram when growing, in trying to save we have eliminated our mother room and have experimented with skipping the vegetative growth altogether we are going to fine-tune this procedier this winter as I have a few ideas on how to improve this process great show you guys blend well together
Yes here in Miami the light company charges less for electricity at night vs day
Nice. Leaving in the smoke session. See. Now I get to hit that up at 3pm after the forced-grind is done.
Thanks dudes.
I binge watched twice from the first episode to the latest, some episodes 3 times and I pick up something new every time. I wish this was a daily show!
Another great video from the pros much love
You guys are hitting homeruns. Budget grows with re-purposed gear can give fire results. The difference is in the craft and skill of the grower. Weed will grow and deliver in a wide latitude of conditions. All the tents and specific gear do is get you to a higher level of process refinement and control, which hopefully results in maxing the plant potential. In the end the budget dude grows a Corvette and the full set-up grows a Ferrari. Despite the price difference, both are fearsome precision machines. I overwinter cuts from outdoors and make lots of clones each spring under cheap LED shoplights of 5000K. The ones with the 2 round tubes; not the ones with lens. They run super cool. I figure something is working. Because sometimes months later, the original leaves I trimmed as clones are still green.
I heard in "another" podcast that humic acids will lock up the chloramine in tap water. Can't remember who said that, but good job.
Electrical tip: Pick up a copy of the electric code. Find published wiring diagrams from renovation contractors, showing what you can do and how to. Don't tap the panel.> Add a circuit. Re-purpose a baseboard heater circuit 240V into two 120V. Even into single plug with each socket a separate circuit.
Chris u had alot of good points. Keep it growing Much Respect
Love this topic, y’all always knock it out the park. I’m always geeked for new shows
Great video guys keep up the good work I love you three together on one show is the best
I bought viparspectra xs lights because I thought they were the new best lights and then boom..bar style lights hit the market big and now I want all bar style lights. I have the mars fc 6500 and it's rocking my 5x5
Use HPS in the winter , share the heat to warm your house.
I bought 2 maxisun 1000’s for less then $100 and killing it in 4x4 I added my cheap $40 1st light led for bloom just because it has a lot of red’s in spec
Busy now but will watch the whole vid later on 👍 keep the great info coming guys
Good talk guys learning a lot.
Hollands hope very Nice strain from Dutch passion !! 💣🔥🤘❤️👌
I do perpetual grows with auto's in Canada, sometimes I do more than 4 too but don't tell big brother
Great episode, so many awesome tips! A nice reminder that we all start somewhere, and it's ok to start from the bottom...
Buying new stuff for the garden becomes addictive
4 plants in VA period.... Always enjoy watching. Thanks
Love it!
49:00 we are on the same page Pigeons, should be like Charlie and the kids going into Willy Wonka's factory for the first time. It should feel like that EVERY time LOL
Dr earth dry amendments is very affordable and works great
coast of main has blends same with build a soil
I'm late to the party but budget doesn't necessarily mean cheap. It's what you can afford. My budget for my first grow was around $800 for everything including post harvest supplies etc. Made some upgrades in-between but still spent around 1100. Someone can have a budget of $5000+ and some can have a budget of only a couple hundred dollars.
I don't understand anyone who uses cannabis regularly but says they can't afford to grow. 1 grow pays for itself. 2 grows saves you money.
I built my green house with salvaged steel tubing only had to buy 1x4 strapping and polly
Nice to see the boys back in town great convention
Not the jenco jeans lol
the jeans p the og air/fabric pot way before any 🤣
I try not to go cheap on most equipment but I have found some super cheap fans at salvation army stores. Some of those old fans are made to last forever.
Hey Stash dude's. Hello from Arizona. Your allowed to grow 12 plants here. We have 3 marshydro 3×3 tents with ts1000 lights. Been growing since March. 4 plants per tent, a month apart. The biggest expense I found is the seeds. Still learning, can't get cloning down yet, working on it!
Walmart 7gal grow bags are 1 dollar. The bags you buy at the check out register
Thanks yall on my first grow and threw. Bunch of money on my tent and all the gadgets to chase vpd
eyy, great topic and great cast. many starting out can feel overwhelmed with this product and that and just the unknowing of it all. You all set them up for success. as saying thank you to you all i purchased two stoned and successful t-shirts to support you in what you are doing here. thanks-
natures living soil works great sand is easy to use
No money and no room so I grow outside, someday I'll grow inside, my dream is to grow weed myself I love it.
