The statement was supposedly made in March 2019, but Ramon hasn't had a position in government since 2009 and wasn't even in the Likud party. And Haaretz has for a long time had an agenda to bring down Netanyahu, it's not surprising that they would fabricate stories like these.

If Mosab’s father really felt bad for “making a mistake” he would turn himself in, or at least have the hostages released. But just like Mosab has said in other videos, “he’s a liar, they’re all liars”, it’s exactly what they are called to do from the Quran to advance their religious ideology. His father has been in Israel jail for quite some years ago, so it was in the prison he was interviewed of resent, i think he's beginning to realise that what they were doing is not right. How do we get this interview to be broadcast on news networks across the U.S., BBC, Al Jazeera, and the rest of the world?
In 2009 a Palestinian journalist said to Journalists without Borders (RSF) "Hamas controlled information during the war. The BBC, AP and AFP are all under its control. No open criticism can be made against Hamas. Journalists in Gaza do not have complete freedom.”
Al-Jazeera is Qatari state funded media and Qatar doesn't have free press. It is affiliated with Hamas.
Sinwar said that Al-Jazeera "has been the best pulpit to give the accurate voice to our position." He added "All hail to you, heroic fedayeen [of Al-Jazeera]".
