As a Grandmother of 10 I don’t buy them presents but have experiences. Last week My 14 Grandson & I saw the broadway play The Book of Mormon, seeing Cats next week with my 7 yr old, saw Yanni with my 18 yr old and went to Avatar 3D with 10 yr old and the littles spend the night then go to the kids museum, just a few examples. My Grandson who is 20 called me on my birthday & wants to take me to a concert (we saw Rufus Wainwright when he was 14) but I had to pick as I “ always pick cool stuff”!
Oh Ben and Katie, tears are in my eyes sooo good Ben is taking the girls out on individual dates. So special. And one on one time with you too Katie.
I think you are doing a great job working through this birthday party triggers. You will find the right way.
I'm so glad to hear you talk about dialing it back a little with regards to the party. It's so hard when you begin to compete with yourself, you can get caught up and want to try and out do the last accomplishment but it doesn't have to be like that. Enjoy the little and the big, they both are special.
Not me legitimately crying when Ben was at the door. Holy freaking crap yall are such a precious family. Your videos make me smile so much. Katie you are the best girl mom, it's amazing. And the girls are so precious. I love their little personalities. I can see it now. Ella's gonna be the sensible one that's gonna be like another parent always there for others to listen and give advice, Avrey's gonna be the social butterfly always wanting to be with people and Addie's gonna be the outspoken one who will march to the beat of her own drum and always let you know what she thinks and how she feels. That's just what I think. But they are so cute and sweet and have the best parents ever. I absolutely adore you all.
Just keep things fun,not stressful ,the girls know you love them💜while there were several young parents with children on UA-cam, I find you all to be very mature and spot on with bringing up your family,bless all💙

I was fixing to tell you to not worry about out doing yourself so much as being in the moment. Enjoy the kids becuz b4 you know it they grow up and move out lol. Mine our 28 and 26 now. But listening to you, you get it. Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️

Katie, Addie is going to be one and happy no matter how big her party is. My boys are men with families of their own now, but I was a stay at home mom and we didn’t have the money for birthday parties. I baked their favorite cake, we gave them presents and they were happy. Your love for them is what’s most important and they are beautiful happy girls, because of you and Ben and the love you both show them. Just enjoy the day! 💞💞💞

Pediatric nurse here, teething should not cause a fever like that. A fever indicates an infection somewhere in the body. Please keep your eye on her love! ❤

When my son was much younger we would have mother son dates once a month. It was always dinner and a movie. ❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
I don't know for sure, but I doubt a one-year-old will remember an epic birthday party compared to Avery and Ella ( forgetting how old they are). But I think even Avery and Ella won't mind a simple "here's cake, and a present."
In my family we can pick a birthday dinner, or a restaurant to go & one present from parants even as kids. Now rather than a present, it's a gift card.
Don't feel like you have to do bigger, better and more expensive Birthday Parties for your girls every year.
They will not remember the specifics of their parties. Only that mom and dad made them feel very special and most importantly, LOVED! Do you remember each of your birthday parties? Do you remember what presents you got and from who??? They won't either. But, I'm sure you remember that you felt love from everyone. Please don't stress
You both are truly wonderful parents and I really envy you. My coward of a boyfriend disappeared when I was 5 months pregnant with my daughter. We had been together for 4 years but I found out that he didn't want to be tied down being a parent. I later found out he also had 4 other girlfriends! So I ended up raising my daughter alone. I watch you and see how mature you both are and wish I would have had what you both have. Love and respect for each other. 3 beautiful girls and a beautiful future loving and respecting each other. Ben, really they should not be eating snow. My nephew stopped gaining weight when he was 2 and they looked for a reason and it took about a year to find that he had parasites in his intestines from eating snow was all the deduced. Not clean even though it might look clean and white sometimes.

I’m sure they express to them that they are beautiful without it 🤍💓 kids just find it fun and special to do their makeup and that’s okay! but like you said as long as they know they don’t need it to be beautiful!
I think the girls are at the age where they're thinking "be like mommy." But you're right, good to teach that early and not as in "you don't need makeup. Don't even think about makeup."
Though I do find ladies can be a little excessive with what they put on. I tried makeup, but being legally blind makes it a challenge.
“True beauty”?! 😬 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If they feel good when they are wearing makeup what’s the problem with that? Personally, that’s not a lesson that I would teach my girls. I remember being told that as a child and it was just annoying. I wasn’t insecure because of makeup, most of my insecurities came from people that made comments about “true beauty” and “oh honey you don’t need it, you know you’re beautiful the way you are”..
