  • Have you heard of the mâmawi café?
Located in the mâmâweyatitân centre in Regina’s North Central neighbourhood, the mâmawi cafe is nurturing an appreciation of good food among students and equipping them with the skills to excel in the hospitality industry.
Kelley Christopherson is a teacher at Scott Collegiate, within the mâmâweyatitân centre, and leads the Food Tourism and Hospitality Pathway Program.
The program was introduced when the new Scott Collegiate and mâmâweyatitân centre opened in 2017. Pathway students hone their skills in the mâmawi café, where experience is the teacher. Students are immersed in the work of operating the café on weekdays and learning cooking, customer service and other skills.
Open for lunch Monday to Friday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. and welcoming guests for the remainder of the school year (re-opening again in September).
