My Song : Oliver Mtukudzi on 'Sarawoga'

- After his 21-year-old son and music partner died, Oliver Mtukudzi spent two years "without doing anything", as he puts it. But Tuku -- how the Zimbabwean musician's fans call him -- eventually found a way to play again. In this edition of My Song, he talks about his experience of 'sarawoga'. That's the Shona word for 'left alone' and it's the name of his song.

Even today in South Africa I have opened my house to Zimbabwean, my friend from Zimbabwe nicknamed now now is a very bright fellow attesting to the high standard of education once offered in Zimbabwe has taught me a lot about Zimbabwean music while he had Marvelled at my understanding of African politics including his own country, as African brothers and sisters let us stop calling each other with derogatory names and emulate tuku

very touching story. the way the father feels his son when playing is so touching ..the move is his therapy...he was more a friend than a son... this man's courage to carry on gives courage to face tough trials in life... thanks for this beautiful story!
