@@Naskinlahtaaja You are correct: no one ever said you could change your chromosomes, although I find it amusing you felt a need to suggest a distinction between sex and chromosomes. But that is not the issue.
The issue is that people are just trying to sweep that fact under the rug and pretend like biological sex is of no consequence. "Women's" sports exist so that biological females have their own arena to compete, and excel in, over their vastly stronger biological male counterparts. Women's sports does NOT exist on the basis of a social construct or gender identity, and seeing how we changed the definition of woman, we should probably also change the name "women's sports" to "biological female's sports," or whatever the hell terminology we can use for people with two X chromosomes.
People are annoyed with this because a select few have taken something designed to combat the physical difference half the world experiences, and turned it into something that is all about validating their own personal subjective sense of self. I feel for Lia Thomas and the situation she is in, but supporting the decisions that have been made in this case is a clear sign of either narcissism or virtue signaling, depending on whether you are trans or not, respectively. Women's sports exist to give physically weaker females a chance to compete, not to make people like Lia Thomas feel validated.

I'm almost 44 years on hormones & closing on 4 decades post-op. This is utter madness and should not be allowed. It's nothing more than legalized cheating in my eyes to allowing a male to female trans person to compete in women's sport's and no It is not being transphobic to speak out about this, It's just stating the obvious. When I was younger and used to go work out at the Gym with my late husband. I got on well with the gym owner's wife. One day she took me to one side and asked me if I was going to enter the Miss physique contest that was coming up. I said no what ever made you think that. I workout for my own benefit not to compete against others. I would not do that, it would be so unfair. That's not something I could ever do to a woman.
The relief on her face was overwhelming; she was almost in tears. She said it had been worrying her for some time as we would have been in the same Height and weight class and that she had won many years running. She was 6ft tall & I was 5ft 9" just over. Today's trans people seem to be so far removed and blinkered to what being female is that they can not even empathise with a woman or see their own advantages they have over them in these areas when it comes to competing in sports. I find it hurtful and embarrassing. what it is to be transsexual as been hijacked over the decades and made a mockery of by these types that you point out.
Its gone from transsexuals fixing a personal mind and body mismatch issue with one's self and then getting on with our lives unnoticed as best we can. To folk now who do not want to make any effort to be what they claim to be who actually thrive on the attention and privileges it grants them under the term transgender with all these new woke laws etc. Many are out to make others around them change their perceptions of what a woman is or fall foul of the woke policing. It is lunacy at its best. I get labelled at TERF quite often because I will not side with these folks and their crazy demands and expectations.
Transsexuals should not even be lumped under the term transgender as far as i am concerned. It's not even in the same postcode. I find all this very demeaning of all I went through and suffered growing up in the 1970's and early 1980s to be happy within my own skin. My intentions and actions back then were to change myself so I could be happy within my own skin, not to force the world around me to change or pay the price. There are different definitions of the word TRANSGENDER , The most prevalent is those who are political in nature and refers to anyone who considers themselves as different in terms of sex or gender. Most transsexual persons refuse to be lumped in with the TG Community, but others like non-op TG persons see political value in working together.
A transgender person is someone who deliberately lives in a way opposed to their physical sex. For example, if a person is born with female genitalia and wants to keep it, but expresses and feels that they are a boy mentally, then they are transgender. Transsexual and transgender is not the same thing as transsexual is only applicable to those born with a need to correct their genitals as best they can, while most transgender people desire to keep their original genitalia. A person is born with transsexualism, the whole idea of the surgery is to stop having transsexualism and to get on with life as if they never had the condition. For me and many of my old friends it was important to fix our mind and body mismatch ASAP and then get on with our lives. Often going stealth and only letting those who need to know about our past know.
The term transgender covers a wide spectrum of different folks. Most of whom are more vocal/visible. Hence more well known by the public online and offline as they tend to go out of their way to make their presence known and felt. Where as many of use old school transsexual's the aim was to fix the issue and move on with our lives unnoticed. Many of us had to make big sacrifices like losing family members and old friends and moving to avoid publicity at times. As that for us would defeat the whole object of fixing the issues we had with ourselves in the 1st place. For us it is not a badge we wear. Just a distant unhappy memory we rather leave behind us and not dwell on.
This leads to our side of the story being less heard by the public, leaving them to assuming the outspoken ones most often seen kicking off on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & UA-cam etc are what its all about for all under the umbrella term transgender. Which is not the case at all. There are many of us out there in the world that can hold conversations with folk who disagree with us without resorting to branding them transphobic or getting catty and bitchy. It's a shame so many of these outspoken trans folks will brand someone transphobic at the drop of a hat yet forget it took themselves years to understand and accept their own situation. Bit hypocritical if you ask me. But hey that's what happens when what it is to be transsexual gets hijacked and turn in to a trans radical agenda/movement. It's now become a money spinner for many. It's like reality TV with a large helping of soap opera thrown in for good measure. Fed to an ever growing gullible audience grasping at straws.
They have only gotten away with it for so long because transsexuals tend to avoid outing themselves as it defeats the object of fixing the mind and body mismatch in the 1st place if you're going to and broadcast that you did it. I'm older now my husband as passed away I have nothing to loose and some one needs to speak up for the genuine transsexuals and point out the difference that the transgender agenda as tried to blur. I did my SRS in the beginning of the1980s then I just got on with my life with my late husband after my surgery. So was quite shocked when after my husband sudden death 31 years later and I went searching for a Post-op Transsexual widows support group and only found the embarrassing radical transgender agenda movement crap online that only serves to make a mockery of what it is to be Transsexual and trample all over women right as if they don't even matter. Many of today's trans folk are a breed unto themselves who lack empathy for women and women's rights. I find all this shameful, embarrassing and hurtful. My advice to anyone who is planning to come out as trans, is to invest in some big girl knickers 1st and stop trampling all over women's rights.

They hide behind threats of censorship and character assassination because they know the facts are not on their side. And they get away with it almost 100% of the time. That needs to change. Gender, Sex and Biological sex were all used interchangeably until some pedophile came up with the idea that gender and biological sex were different. They are only different in that gender can be used to describe something that doesn't have biology, because it's not a living thing. Like the gender of a word. She, her etc are feminine pronouns, he and his are masculine. Since words don't have sexual organs, you can't really call them biological males, hence the word gender fits better. But when talking about people, gender and biological sex are interchangeable, and therefore can't be opposite.
It was an obvious BS ploy to throw people off when people tried to point out the obvious biological sex of a person. That's where these cultists tried to separate biology and gender, but this of course fell apart, when they tried to claim a male who identified as female could get a period. I know the world athletic organization or association whatever its called, the body that sanctions the world championships changed the testosterone rules to the point where it was harder for transgenders to compete. I think they cut the standard in half so its different from NCAA and the IOC. Maybe people can look at that, and make the standard enforceable before puberty begins? Or I guess the courts are going to have to answer the question of what is a man and what is a woman some day. • @tyroneharrison60

I'll help you out a bit. I've actually followed this for the last few years now. You know how the conservative states have been banning this lately? The "transgender side" is the one that is going to challenge at least at the secondary education level. There are cases in several states, Idaho, West Virginia, Florida to name a few and those are a transgender, usually a kid, challenging the enforced bans. I think the one that is the furthest along is the florida case, which is challenging the athletic ban based on title 9 and we know what title ix is right? BUT if you look, the judge has held off their decision, because there is a case that is now in the 11th circuit court of appeals that is a transgender challenging the st johns school district for not allowing them, a trans male, to use the male restroom. I think the "transgender side" (I hate saying it like that lol) has won BASED ON TITLE 7 BUT NOT TITLE 9. Look up the st johns school district case that is in the 11th circuit court of appeals right now. That may be the case that goes to the supreme court, again its a "bathroom case" which is not womens and girls sports, BUT it is a TITLE 9 case, see what I mean? I think technically speaking, and this isnt to sound like a racist or bigot (Im a black dude lol) so dont feel wierd with what I am going to say. I think if you read title 9, it technically allows segregation, not by race or sexual orientation, BUT BY SEX IN ROLES ASSIGNED AS SUCH, this would include competitive sports. But once again, there is nothing in there about being born. That's the question I guess......

What an embarrassment for him to step forward and claim an award that rightfully doesn't belong to him! If transgenders want to compete in sports, then they should form a club amongst themselves. Just because you may identify as a penguin doesn't mean you are one!

I don’t understand why we are enabling people who clearly need psychological help. Why are we affirming men who dress up like women and talking about how they should be allowed to follow their passion and express themselves? Of course they have a right to present themselves to the world in whatever way they want. But the rest of us have a right to freak out about it if we want. It’s not a normal or healthy thing for a man to do. And it’s ok for people to say so.

Utter disgrace, especially in discussing Title IX! I worked as a USA Swimming Coach and they have some stupid rules which contradict each other. Swim Coaches are not allowed in the athlete locker rooms; yet, biological men with male genitalia claiming to be women can use the women’s locker room and expose themselves to every woman and child! 🤦🏼‍♀️
On a legal perspective, women fall under a “protective class” because since the dawn before time women were not treated equally as men. Why are we going backwards in bastardizing women’s only sporting competitions?
As a former D1 swimming athlete, I earned an athletic scholarship to attend college, I am aware of the privilege it is to be a college athlete. The privilege is not only in the pool, it’s also in the classroom, and can hold financial benefits as well.

All of this is especially significant in a sport like swimming. In swimming, those physical differences, like larger hands, bigger feet, longer arms, and overall height are HUGE advantages. It's exactly why the top men go so much faster. If you got bigger and stronger paddles to move through the water, someone with smaller paddles(hands) will only pull a fraction of the water, versus the larger paddled swimmer. In other sports, many of these things don't matter as much.

You could say one exception might be if Serena Williams competed against a male high school tennis player. I’m sure she would win as she’s a top level pro athlete playing against a high school kid. That’s a weird example but it’s true.
This is another reason why at around age 13 sports are either all male or all female; otherwise it would not be fair to the females.
