I really hope that someday Jyp will stop making itzy song on unnecessarily high range when the main vocalist itself isn't too comfortable in.
Finally! I’ve always thought this. Her comfortable range is lower than the high parts she’s made to sing. She can hit high notes she just can’t do it comfortably if she’s doing the intense choreography that Itzy does. It’s why I liked the Mafia in the morning Album more cause she sounds so good hitting the lower register she has.
They do the same with Twice. Listen to the members speaking voices and, except for Sana and Tzuyu, they are on the lower side.

Honestly they’re all singing in “JYP” voice. Nasal, hitting high notes with throat, screaming high notes. He is such a bad influence to his artists.

Lia can support A3~A4/Bb4 and her G#3 are not far from being supported also she can connect her hv up to G#5 She is better than so many 4th gen vocalist (Example:Mia,Miyeon,Yoon)
Lia might not be the best vocalist in Kpop but She is not close to be bad as much some Kpop fan bash her she is underrated even some midzy think that yeji is stronger than her and she would be better if she was the main but no yeji is sooo good but she doesn't support at all but she have a room for improvement

K-pop idols really sound so different when singing non-k-pop songs. I barely recognize Lia's voice, cause she sounds so different in here, compared to when she sings Itzy songs. I wish for other k-pop Idols to have the opportunity to express their true voice too... I'm not saying that their voice is fake, but I want them to sing more comfortably within their range, and to sing more freely without limiting and changing the color of their voice.

I can totally see her doing this type of music as a soloist but Itzy’s high intensity pop style just doesn’t suit her voice as well as this. I love itzy but I always feel bad for Lia cause she’s gotta adapt her voice to fit their songs even when it’s not a comfortable range for her. AND she’s gotta keep up with their intense dances which she could do perfectly if she didn’t have to also hit her higher (than her comfortable range) vocal parts perfectly too.
check out itzy's b-sides! although they might not have ballad as slow and emotional as this song but their albums have always shown different sides of all the girls' vocals.

I'm not a MIDZY but I follow Itzy's comeback and all, and I only learn about Lia's OST few days ago and only had the chance to listen to it now. Safe to say that I understand why she's the main vocal. She should really sing songs in her comfortable range because it's heavenly.

I’m sure it’s a last-minute decision. What MBC’s reason is still a mystery. But, to have this masterpiece in terms of storyline, dialogues, actors, lyrics, composition and Lia’s voice is a wasted opportunity for MBC. It easily can be or be one of the best original compositions of the year 2022. But I believe everything happened for a reason, now Lia can be proud of herself, she has another masterpiece OST. And the amount of recognition and acknowledgement she’s received is mostly positive. She will be gaining popularity among Kdrama producers in years to come. She proves it, she’s not a weak singer, she just has a different genre. Her genre.

I would love for Lia to have a solo album! She deserves to have more space and more chances. She is a true singer of great quality and talent. It's a waste that she has so few lines in songs and aren't suited to her voice. She is the main singer and they give her less lines for her than all the other members. I hope that soon she will have the chance to demonstrate her great talent and becoming in future a soloist and that she will have all the success she deserves!
