What’s your favorite backpacking meal? Drop a comment below and we’ll give it a try!
Peak Refuel Thai Chicken Coconut Curry is so damn good.
Any of the white color Peaks (Alfredo, cheesy broccoli, stroganoff, biscuits & gravy, etc.) with a bunch of taco bell hot sauce is always great!
Last but not least: the Peak Refuel Mountain Berry Granola... It's mountain dessert! 🙃
(i always get Peak stuff in bulk so that's all I know)
So far peak sweet pork and rice
Hey as far as I'm concerned the more top tier videos on hunting, hunting gear etc the better!! Thumbs up on the new series. I now have to try some wild society.
Heck yeah us too!! Appreciate you watching!
I got a case of Mountain House, various types, not disappointed
Right on. I will eat mountain house, just not my first choice. I have found other brands that taste better and don't make me feel as bad when I am eating them for a week straight. Peak refuel has been my go to in the past, but since doing this video, Wild Society meals will be in my pack this year.
Very expensive, but thanks for doing this, you could save us hundreds of dollars here..
What I'd like to see at the end, is a price rundown, per day of the top meals..
Yeah, unfortunately when you buy a bunch of these meals it gets expensive. That is a great idea, Tim. We will keep that in mind when we do this again! Thanks for your input!
Love it keep em coming! My all time favorite has to be the peak sweet pork and rice. The backpackers pantry pad thai is good to. Love the B&G from peak. So many good options. LETS GO!
Those ones are great as well! Love that there are so many options out there!
Hope you brought some army MRE'S just for giggles
Haha we did not. Also have never tried an MRE. Maybe we will try those next!
great video! so many folks dont try meals before they take them into the mountains and find out they hate them at the worst times hahah.
Thanks! Yes haha. I would hate to find out that I do not like a meal when I am packed in on a hunt.
I would add in the video details the name and brand and maybe a link to each one you try in each video. Outside of the beginning i didnt hear you mention the brand of chilli mac so i gotta go back to the beginning to find out.
appreciate it, well add it
@PNWild as well as weight comparison.... meaning are the amount of consumable food the same for each pouch.
I notice some pouches are smaller than others
Counting the water you haul with you and the stove to heat it up with doesn't it end up weighing the same as just having a can of chili? Unless you can get water when you get out there which I can't also the salt content of that stuff is kinda bad.
I can now go on short hunting trips so I just bring granola and water with me. I used to bring beef jerky but that stuff is really high in salt which is bad for a diabetic like myself
We usually just pack in enough water to get us to our destination and then filter water daily. The salt is actually needed to replenish our electrolytes because we are sweating a lot and using a ton of energy while hiking around the mountains. Are they as healthy as I can make a meal at home? No. But definitely lighter than a can of chili even with the stove and fuel.
2-3 meals per day puts us at $30-40+ per day in food expenses every day when you add in snacks, coffee, supplements, etc. 😬I need a raise at work.
Haha you and me both! Gets very expensive!
