Thank you so much. I appreciate this. My daughter is 1, and i'm trying to get her off the bottle because she constantly rely on the bottle for her milk. And she constantly keeps waking up in the middle of the night crying for her bottle. She will stay fussy until she gets what she wants. But i will be working on these steps, thank you!
Yeah same with me my son is 23 months and still wakes up in the middle of the night. He will become so fussy 😫 until he gets the bottle. I really hope this helps.
Thank you! My son just turned 1 and we are starting the bottle transition. We are going to keep the formula until he mastered the sippy and we are confident he’s getting all of his nutrients with food (he’s a bit picky right now).
Thank you so much for this. I didn’t know how important this was until my daughters recent doc appointment for her one year check up. I used sippy cups only for water during meals and would always use bottles for milk. I’m glad I know to be better prepared for the next one. I’ll be consistent. She loves her bottle so much that I did water and a little milk and she still drunk it and when I gave her the sippy cup she threw the biggest tantrum but I’ll keep trying. The sooner the better!
Thank you so so much for this. I didn’t think this was a thing until my daughters recent appointment and the doc advised us to do this. I’ll be trying these starting today and be serious!
Hey I love this advice. I do have a question. Did you give your LO a choice between bottle or sippy cup each time during this transition? Is that why it took you a few weeks. If you could clarify that would be so helpful! Thank you so much in advance 🤍
So if anyone needs more help from an actual Child sleep therapist, please look up Little Z's Sleep on youtube. She is great! And she answered this question a lot better, no offense. This was a little confusing. My girl is 16m and we started with the Phillips Avent milk bottles and then we got the Munchkin sippy cups to help her learn how to drink from a more "normal" drinking cup but that was a little much for her. So i got the Phillips Avent Grippy Spout sippy cups, the tops of the sippy cup fit the milk bottles too! which is so great, if you want to transition to a sippy cup. Im going to try cold turkey, no more bedtime bottle and serve it at dinner time.
I’m gonna try this. My son turns 3 in June and I’m about to give birth my due date is May 10th. When my son goes to his dad house he doesn’t use a bottle but it’s now become a constant struggle at my house because I live with my mom currently and her and everyone else here keep giving him a bottle because they just don’t wanna hear him crying. It stresses me out.
These are great tips thank you so much!! My son is 16 months and ive tried and tried but haven't been consistent and I give in because I feel bad that hes uncomfortable but with these tips I have more confidence thanks hun!!🥰🥰
Okay so pretty much if he takes a bottle before bed and I’m wearing that bottle last . Does that mean I delute every bottle but that one until the end ?
our baby will drink plenty of water from the sippy but won't drink milk from a sippy. we even tried a little plastic tumbler without a lid with just a little milk and he looks at it and knows it's milk and won't even try it. what do we do now? we have tried different sippy cups too. he only takes bottle before nap and bedtime otherwise he drinks water all day and with meals from his sippy
I'm not a doctor so this is just my opinion and advice we got from my son's pediatrician. But not all babies over 12 months need to drink milk. They can get their calcium and other nutrients from cheeses, yogurts, and other foods. I would definitely check with your ped to see if this is an option if your child isn't drinking milk from a cup or sippy cup!
We actually experiencing the same but about 2 days ago I just decided to be consistent and he has refused milk completely because it is not in a bottle..he is 2 years now soo he is now taking yogurt, juice and water from silly cups..am hoping one day he will want to try milk again
Hi there! We are dealing with the same thing at 13 months! Day 6 without any milk because he wont take it from a sippy but has been drinking water and juice from a sippy since 4.5. Months. Any feedback since its been 9 months since you responded with this? Did your ped say its fine without 16 oz of whole milk?
I tried all type of different sippy cups because my son is 1 1/2 still drinking out of a bottle with a nipple for a 12 month old or 6 mon I forgot but he refuses to switch I tried every other sippy cup! His pediatrician said he should be off of it by now but my son is stubborn and will scream and puke if he doesn’t have his bottle I know he can’t walk around with it but he does and it’s messing up his teeth as it’s growing. I tried to wean him off of it but he screamed so much the neighbors called the cops on me thinking I was abusing my baby! 😣😣😣 I tried giving it to him only during dinner or lunch be if he doesn’t have it he screams and puked literally pukes haha it’s like I don’t want to give him what he wants whenever he wants but he will uncontrollably cry and I don’t want the cops called again thinking I’m abusing my babies. Girl, It’s sucks. 😞 my kids father also gives him the bottle with milk whenever I don’t, my daughter was not like this at his age so I’m confused but his doctor keeps saying he can’t have the bottle but I can’t help but give it to him cause he needs his bottle else it’s a war zone!
They are drinking a bottle at 4? They are way past the baby stage....take it away and that's it. Who cares if they flip out...really the only person that's hurting is you...the kid will get over it eventually...just offer them a cup and that's it don't even give them a choice throw away all bottles.
I did #2 but my son needs it to sleep, and he screams really bad. I dilute it at night and during naps but he screams & cries in his crib until I have to walk in 🥲😣😣😣 I am so tired!
Please no judgement! I am a first time mommy , my boy is 18 months old and still drinking his formula with his bottles, he is eating really bad during the day, it been a week or so that i have been researching all kinds of things and i believe now that i am a bad momma .. i dont know what to do anymore , i dont know where to start, even tho im watching videos and everything , I STILL DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! He wakes up like 4 times a night ... im drowning ...
My sons 18 months and he was the exact same! I finally switched the bottle with a sippy cup and then a straw cup. He still cried like he’s being tortured. But after 3 nights he’s finally accepting the straw cup. It’s a struggle! He drinks much less throughout the day and only from his straw bottle. At night I let him have a drink and then put him down and hope he won’t be too fussy.. still working on it but the constant waking at night and the need to always have it around is hard..
No, I almost never warmed his milk. The only times I did was when it was breastmilk that was frozen but even then I’d warm it to room temp. I didn’t want him expecting warm milk 😬 lol
Diluted bottle to water over few weeks.... he is still refusing any milk from anything else and crying for water baba's now.......................................................................................................................... Now I am telling him that this Monday is bye bye baba's. Wish me luck. I am planning on changing our routine up and adding rocking/singing/personal time/reading in a rocker before bedtime, and giving him 15 min. to try, then going in again to comfort and encourage (repeating as needed.) I feel like he is gonna take it pretty hard. :( Pray for us please!
Trying to transition my LO from Bottle to Sippy. She's 10 months old now and she'll drink water from her sippy. When you say dilute bottle, do you mean dilute it with milk? We use formula and it's already mixed with water
hi! that's awesome :) I would suggest mixing half the amount of formula (the powder) with the same amount of water in their bottle while having a regular mix in a sippy cup. This way your baby will take the bottle and be like, what the heck is this watered down mess and hopefully prefer the sippy cup since that's what has their regular tasting milk in it! basically make the bottle less satisfying and the sippy more satisfying! lmk if this makes sense
I just gave my son a small cup with verrrrry little water in it, and let him practice. Sometimes it would be just spilt water, but eventually he got it!
Helpful video! A couple questions
1. What sippy cups do you recommend?
2. Do you warm the whole milk or keep it cold?
Thank you so much. I appreciate this. My daughter is 1, and i'm trying to get her off the bottle because she constantly rely on the bottle for her milk. Which sippy cup did u use? My baby won't really suck out of it
How many sippy cups should a baby be drinking a day? Is there a sippy cup you particularly like? Thank you!

I'm glad!! Best of luck!! 🤍
wow n just wow, love these tips, thank you so much. You made great point and i will try them.
this came at the best time for me haha. starting the weaning this week. not perfect today, but this helps me be more confident that it will work :)
Yessss, you got this! It may not be perfect or easy, but it'll happen 💛

@@sanchez1189 ok thank you so much
My son loves his sippy cup would I even need to do this since he already loves it?
I don't think so since this method is mainly to get your baby off the bottle and onto a sippy cup/cup! :)
You’re so amazing!!
So how do you wean baby off the sippie cup
She’s emotionally connected to her bed bottle😭 She takes any sippie cup all day long
How can I wean my baby from her night bottle?
I think you just have to wait till they sleep through the night. My one year old still wants some bottle at night.
as a dad thank you so much!!!!!!!
of course 🥺 happy to help!
Love you're make up
