  • Prawns Pulav Recipe in Malayalam
    Ingredients:
    Prawns - 400 gm
    Basmati rice - 1 cup
    Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
    Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
    Ghee - 11/2 tbsp
    Bay leaves - 2
    Cloves - 4
    Green cardamom - 2
    Cinnamon stick - 1
    Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
    Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
    Onion - 1
    Tomato - 1
    Green chilli - 4
    Garlic cloves - 12
    Ginger - a small piece
    Mint leaves - 10
    Water - 2 cup
    Salt
    Directions:
    Marinate 400 gm prawns with 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and salt and set aside.
    Heat 2+1/2 tbsp ghee in a pan and add 2 bay leaves, 4 cloves, 2 green cardamom, 1 small piece of cinnamon stick, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp fennel seeds and saute well.
    Add 1 medium sized onion and suate until slightly golden.
    To this add crushed green chilli-ginger-garlic and 10 mint leaves.
    Saute until the raw smell goes off.
    Now add prawns, combine and saute it.
    Add 1 chopped tomato and cover until tomato become soft.
    Add 1 cup basmati rice (soaked for about half an hour).
    Combine everything.
    Add 2 cups of water and enough salt, wait until it comes to a rolling boil.
    Now cover and cook 4 minutes on medium flame.
    Then simmer and cover for about 14 minutes.
    Done.
