Hi! I absolutely love every video where Tomas is teaching us new thing trough Jonathan learner perspective. But could you two maybe can do video about what disc golf discs should be in every beginner's/amateurs backbag?
Just got this the other day and it has been a blast! One thing I wish you could do is to change the button from the big trigger on the back of the Oculus controller to the smaller one on the side of the handle, I feel like that could make it feel a bit more natural and have more consistent releases. :)
Have you guys looked at Disc Benders at all? It's on the App Lab for Quest and runs natively without a PC. This looks like fun but not nearly as polished yet with their controls like their mobile game is... Edit: Didnt realize this is the "Alpha" apparently? I'll have to wait for a final product before I say its not as good or better!
Really interesting... does the game put disc angles based on you hand angles? Is the speed based on the controller velocity, or is there also the length of hand movement? If first it allows to use 1cm very fast hand movement for really long shots. If later is is a combination of acceleration and the hand mivement distance? Is so xstep is still usefull... if you have a space for it. So any more info about how the disc is controlled, would be most interesting!
I asked Per the creator and he replied "Initial release is for PC VR, so if you can connect your Quest to a PC you can play. We are aiming for a native Quest release at a later stage!"

Been waiting for a dgvr game to come out so long. @latt 64, have you all submitted optimization requirements to oculus so it can be available on native oculus store or do you plan to just have it available through steam? You all need to try Off the Chains Disc Golf through steam. Seems like the race is on to see who gets a dgvr game on native oculus first. I'm sure I'll get dragged for this unpopular opinion, and I was really excited about this when I first heard about it a few weeks ago, but honestly, it looks kinda twitchy and almost unplayable at this point. Based on these guys, distance control appears to be virtually non-existent. it doesn't really look like much fun...not something I'd wanna play for more than a few minutes just for the novelty of it, and certainly not something worth investing in a VR setup for. Unless it gets dramatically better before release, I can't imagine wanting to spend much time with it. Questions... How is aiming achieved? Do you have to be looking where you want it to go when you release it? That would be unfortunate, since that's not where most people are looking at the time of release IRL. Well to be fair 2 of the 3 players are longtime disc golfers and how they are used to throwing/gripping the disc doesn't necessarily translate to the game. Of course there will be a learning curve involved and this is probably their test run. I have played the Rec Room version of disc golf in VR and the reality is I am not sure the technology is going to produce super realistic simulations currently. But you have to start somewhere. It would be interesting to see how the technology interprets throwing motion into the game, but I am not sure any of them are even involved in the programming. The Valve Index has finger sensors on the controller and that would probably give the most accurate feeling of throwing and letting go, but since the setup alone is 1000 dollars it wouldn't be very accessible to many people.
