I really can't get excited about this product at all. Terrible pack odds, crappy quality, 140 auto checklist so even when you get lucky enough to get an auto, it's likely worth $2. I'll buy a few singles and save my money.
Idk maybe it’s just me but I prefer how topps handles numbered cards. Versus panini who makes a million numbered cards and numbered variations of the same card for every player.
Most definitely. I’ve bought 5 mega boxes so far to test my luck and so far. 1 auto and 1 numbered. The rest was just the guaranteed purple/rookies. I’ve had better chances from hangers!

Jabs, I went to my local Walmart and they were stocked up! They had Bowman Platinum megas for $90! They also had Bowman Chrome go $50, and Topps update! I went to another Walmart and they had Bowman chrome and platinum for the same price but they were locked up!
Put package in mail with another Arod /Jordan rookies for son. There are also two more Bennie babies for the other girls. All three are from 90's. Received my Topps Chrome update today. At least 60% of all base cards had almost no right margin. 85/15. Three boxes with one top rookie. Was happy to get two of him as at least one is center well. Inserts are where things went BOOM. Pulled an Otto (Lopez) auto, an X-factor and in the last box a Ronald Acuna Jr. All-Star auto. Best auto from Topps I have pulled.
Found some today at Target, along with Hanger boxes... bought 6 hangers and 3 Megas, hangers blew them away by a mile for the same price! Every hangers had more than the 20 cards (usually 24 or so), plus I pulled an auto and redemption (unfortunately not big names).
The one and only time I ordered Topps online and, every pack, had dinged corners. It was so frustrating! Thanks for the video sir, always appreciated. 🙏
You were right...today is the 1st day of Christmas "Cardmas" . It's a count up, not a countdown, like the song. However, the first day is Christmas day.
I ordered three of these from Target and got them in yesterday. Opened two so far. First one started out hot with a J-Rod purple but then nothing else of note. The second box had a Torkleson Xfractor /99 and a Juan Soto Generation Now auto /25. Kind of want to hold the third box as I’m certain it won’t be able to top the others.

In a month or two, you can go to your LCS or show and buy 40 random Topps Chrome Update cards (i.e., not in boxes or packs) for $10 or less. That is what we have here, for the most part.

I have five mega boxes on hand and waiting for one hobby box. I don't know if I want to open them now knowing of the awful conditions of most of the cards.

I thought Topps Chrome was the worst product ever made. Two 99c autos in every Hobby box. Then, I saw Chrome Update. It's a shame b/c regular Update was one of the best products in recent memory.
It says something about the state of the hobby that we might be excited over 1:60 pack odds for a base auto from Topps Chrome. **Edit: Even more so that it's remarkable we _don't_ see roller lines on these given Chrome's consistent subpar printing quality in recent years.
Less roller lines, also LESS centering. The cards in this video actually looked MOSTLY ok but all the others I've watched... 70-30 and even 80-20 centering on almost every card. I'll take the roller lines. Seems a simple fix Topps, if you can't center a card, MAYBE go back to a borderless design?
wow. There needs to be at least one parallel per box to justify the $50 price point. I wonder what the hobby version will have inside. These aren't looking too promising

@@Hilfa-rb6uu man, I'm just getting back in to cards after 25 years. My last pack was of the wax era and compared to those these look sweet. I'm not sending cards to get graded, traveling to shows to make trades, calling companies out for imperfections, this is purely for fun. If perfection is what you seek in this hobby you're gonna be disappointed forever.
After seeing this video I'm glad I missed out on the target pre-order. Definitely not worth the $50. I'd rather spend the $50 bucks at my lcs or a card show and pick out the cards I want from the set.
Yeah, just another disappointment from Topps since Fanatics purchased them. I didn't think the Topps QC could get much worse but here we are. They really don't seem to care for their customers.
Absolutely horrible. We are in Junk wax era 2.0 supercharged! Even if you hit a decent cards it's still will be just junk wax! We have surpassed the 90s junk era easily now, with technology like the Internet, whatnot, eBay and etc...Save your money people!!
How are they gonna leave the black golds off the insert checklist for chrome? And anyone else notice the chrome diecuts aren't diecut?

These mega boxes are rough at $50 a pop.
And people are paying that much for something that isn't that impressive at this point.
I opened 4 hangers ($25 each). Zero autos, zero numbered cards, zero Julios. Disappointing.

Typical brutal Chrome. Extremely difficult to pull a big card and 90% of the time you're gonna get wrecked. Steering clear here.
