- Today's video is all about finding what those faint fuzzies are in your deep-sky images using Siril and Adalin Desktop. After doing a plate solve on your image. You can use the Show Object Names to have Siril list the known targets. There are many times that the faint fuzzies will not have names. I will show you how to use Siril and or Adalin Desktop to find most of those missing names and put them into the Siril image so you can save out an image with the Target names embedded for use in the Photo Section of Mallincam Groups. Hope you find this video helpful.

Thanks, Jools
Thanks Jeff. Sometime, When you don’t say what you are clicking on, it’s difficult to figure out what items on the screen are being activated. However, since you went through the process several times, I could figure out what you were clicking on before the cursor moved somewhere else. Very interesting demo.
BTW the DS432cTEC I bought from you performs wonderfully. Happy Holidays
Thanks, Dan Glad the camera is working well for you. I'll try harder to slow down and say what is happening with the mouse! I try to keep these at 30ish minutes and I can get going when I see the time. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Hey Jeff,
Nice video. Nice to see another Siril user in action. I made a similar video some time ago.
By the way, the simbad website shows magnitudes, but it shows it in specific filter bandwidths. I don't fully understand it either. I saw it explained in one of the Aladin Desktop help files. Same for distance. Some objects have distance data available. Some don't. It all depends on the survey that the object is listed in.
I would link my video, but UA-cam mostly then moves the comment to a "Held for review" section. Let me know if you want a link to it ;)
Thanks, Martin I've only been using Siril for around 8 months and i'm really enjoying it. It has some hidden jewels for sure. Send the link, I would be interested in seeing it...
