This scene is so brutal and raw. (To wonder over and over what you did to deserve the treatment an abuser inflicts on you. To be told to forget your scars as if it were so easy.) The anime's writing, art style, acting and music all work together like a masterpiece.
I absolutely loved this episode. It was haunting, chilling, heartbreaking, yet, at the same time, so beautiful. ef - a tale of melodies is definitely of the the best anime ever.
This pops up a year or so after I finally made peace with Yuuko and Yuu's sad tale. Some people just get dealt one bad hand after another. This is one reason that religion is tolerated, because if there's no hope for a peaceful afterlife - the planet would implode.
Yuuko's story is probably the saddest I have ever seen in any anime. It's sad that there are people like Akira (Yuuko's adoptive brother/guardian) in this world and even after this scene, the bond that Yuu and Yuuko form is amazing. I highly recommend this series (I recommend you watch ef-a tale of memories first though).
I was not expecting the second season to change so drastically from tragic romance like the first season to mindfuck tragic romance... I can't tell which one I like better.
Wow, I think that this is so good that it put's Shakespeare's monologues and soliloquies to shame... but it's probably because they're so hard to understand XD But I understand the "To be, or not to Be" speech and this still outweighs that by... sheesh, whats a big enough number? Infinity!!!! But that might not be good enough...
There are two seasons, the first one is ef ~a tale of memories~ , the second one is ef ~ a tale of melodies~. Both are based on VNs by Minori. Also there's a recap episode of the first season but it's not that important.
Does anyone know what the name of the background music during the first half is? I looked through the OST uploaded here on UA-cam but I couldn't find it...
But the fault wan't on Yuuko, she was also a human with thoughts. She can't leave her ''brother'' because she don't have anyone else to rely on...actually she and Yuu were the victims of Yuuko's ''brother''
What!! I thought she was yuuko san that I wanted before.Anyway she looks pretty same as yuuko san from dusk maiden of amnesia by the way she showed dark side of herself and also its storyline except her ears.
Really? I saw it coming a mile away back in Week 3 or 4, when his brother confronted Yuu (quite disturbingly as well), and I was right. I am, however surprised that the writers went to such grave detail to her monologue. In the end after credits, Yuu defended that he doesn't want her to just be a replacement to Akane. Yuuko, then, in Higurashi style, just said "Usoski!".
yeah....i feel so angry at Amamija, but in the end what could I or Yuu have done if he had known earlier, and when you realize that,I think you either feel like there's no point in worrying or you feel like i did...that you're useless and weak and can't do a damn thing....
idk i didnt really like her that much. i just thought she just seemed messed up in the head. not her fault but she was. and i knew she would die because of her in a tale of memories. the end of this was just creepy. she was just a lost poor girl :/. But to die right before he could say anything to her sucks
This freaked me out, made me mad, made me sad and broke me down all at once. Hated it but loved it, very powerful & well written.
Couldn't say it better myself. This was fucked beyond words, that fuck needs to die. Worst part is this it's a true story for so many real people...

i love love love this show! many tears were shed!
This is the best monologue in anime.
:/ I would feel that way too. People who are hurt and feel vulnerable tend to unknowingly try to find a way to put the blame on someone else.
yeah, thats one of the best monolouges I've ever heard^^
insane anime, loved it
who would dislike this its my favorite anime, no my favorite tale, the characters, the scenes, the art everything its so beautiful
Thank you! Although unfortunately it doesn't seem to exist on youtube. A shame, it's very gorgeous to the sound.

this track called Confession
So basically Yuuko got deflowered at age 14 by Amamiya.
OMG...
this part left me speechless, just saying.
Where the tarot card? I want to buy it
Damn you Akira!
that was really, wow very sad

The stupid guy should have told the reason why he don't want her to be his sister.
And the girl should have told why he wants to be his sister.
True they realised it too late
Episode 11.
her eyes were soooooo creepy...
but i guess she was mad cz hiro was lying to her. he kept blinking...

This kind of came out of left field, still sad though.
