Natalie Overcomes A Medical Tragedy - A Heart That Wouldn't Give Up!

Natalie Lewis was born with a heart defect. When she was only five years old, she underwent open heart surgery that was supposed to help her return to life as a healthy six year old. A complication during surgery caused the medical team to perform CPR for 15 minutes, leaving Natalie clinging to life. Her family was reeling when the news was given to them, trying to grasp the concept that Natalie may not survive, let alone ever walk and talk again.
Natalie is a fighter, and with the help and prayers from family and friends all over the world, she is working hard to regain basic skills as she grows and develops skills to overcome and cope with everyday life tasks. The medical bills are astronimical. The support needed to provide her with a quality life is staggering. Physical and occupational therapy to help Natalie grow and gain basic skills toward independence will be lengthy and costly.
The Lewis family has a bond that is stronger than the battles ahead of them and her parents and siblings will love her through all of the challenges she faces. Life is hard, but with God's help and the support of her family and friends, Natalie will continue to reach her full potential and grow up to become a beautiful young woman, achieving all that God has designed for her to do her lifetime!
