Even in Germany or elsewhere, they burn the waste in incinerator and generate energy out of it. The burnable waste without metal contents are sent to incinerator to generate heat and used in community heating. The waste with metals are ground and if extractable, metals are extracted. Electronic waste is sent to recovery factories where chemically the gold is extracted. Non recyclables are compacted and sent to land fills. That is why they charge you to collect the waste, as it costs a lot to safely dispose them
