As cheesy and overdramatic as Tubi movies can be, they really hit the nail on the head with addressing the generational trauma/curses that a lot of families go through. You would be surprised of the nasty secrets that generations of a family will conceal and continue to pass on to their children. Drugs, sexual immortality, abuse, adultery, neglect, ect and the list goes on and on. For anyone caught up in this spiral of sin, pray to the Lord and ask for guidance and protection. Things will get difficult and uncomfortable once you get to the point of addressing the core traumas but it's necessary to get better.
Note how each of the adults avoid bringing up their pasts because it's always hard to address these things, especially when you already have and the people who were supposed to protect you haven't or gaslight or silence you. You just become numb and learn to deal, unfortunately. It goes deep and it happens alot more than most will ever know. Be that one to break your families generational curses
This moving just exploites and uses these themes for profit. There ain't any reason for them to make 3 movies of explicate exploiative situations using real kid actors. Whoever wrote and made this movie is sick

See a therapist.. talk to someone outside of the home you can trust like a teacher or friend. Those things will actually help someone in that situation rather than wasting their time praying for something to miraculously change

This whole series is fucked, but that therapy scene was some of the best acting I've seen in these tubi movies, between the mom telling what happened to her and Latisha watching with tears, it felt a little too real. I remember listening to someone tell me what happened to them when I was a child and it was kind of like this. You can feel the disgust and the anger and sadness. This stuff really happens all the time and it happens to a lot of people.
I don't think it's the dark content that makes this movie bad. It's that it's so dramatically and unsubtly executed that it seems like a dark comedy.
Compare it to Precious.
Wendy's speech was the peak of the films, its was sadly touching.
It's also one of the unusual media where they show well-meaning but ultimately selfish parents that end up giving in to the selfish part.
